One thing that helped was that the celebs were given the subjects of the questions to be asked and possible bluff answers before the show, though they were not told the actual questions, those they heard for the first time during the actual show taping.

The great thing about this episode is that Gilbert sells the bluffs as honest answers and vice versa. That’s the key to being a great square.

Who were unmasked to reveal Penn and Teller, seen here next to him and starting the whole "YOU FOOL!" joke that he escalated so beautifully. (This episode also has Jason Alexander, who was the first to break the news of Gilbert's death on Twitter. Huh.)

I'm submitting this comment in the wake of hearing about the unexpected passing of Gilbert Gottfried. This is a legendary episode and it was always fun to watch Gilbert Gottfried in this show! I first heard about him, as many of my peers did, from Aladdin and if I'm not mistaken this was the first time I saw him onscreen when I grew up watching it as a 9- or 10-year-old. RIP Gilbert Gottfried

This show originally aired on Friday 10/1/99. Valerie would return for Losers week which aired 7/10-7/14 2000. Ironically, Gilbert was one of the celebrities (along with the late Bernie Mac) for that week as well!
