The highest attended Babymetal solo concerts were the Tokyo Dome shows in 2016 where they had 55,000 fans each of the two nights they performed there. They played every song in their catalog over the two nights, and never played the same song twice. It also had the most insanely large stage of any of their concerts.

Arkadia is the last song on the Metal Galaxy album and a great way to end an album. As people have already said, the last 3 songs on MG, Starlight, Shine, and Arkadia, make up the "Trilogy of Lights". These songs deal with the sadness of loss, (Starlight) coming to terms with it, (Shine) and moving on to the future (Arkadia). Shine is a beautiful song, a masterpiece imo. Hopefully you can get to it soon.

For your dream, for your faith, for your life, no more tears, no more pain, no more cry. What a BEAUTIFUL song this one is! Oh an edit, I think their biggest concert was 2016 Tokyo Dome, but Wembley, Budokan and Makuhari Messe were all colossal shows

Budokan wasn't as big audience wise in hindsight (for their Japan shows at least), it's listed with 14.5k max capacity. Legend Metal Galaxy in January was probably their second biggest, because it was the two big halls of Makuhari Messe, which would probably be around 22 - 24k people. And don't forget their 20 - 22k Saitama Super Arena concerts.

Arkadia, what an amazing theme, surely top3 Babymetal songs for me. And it is a pity it is so underrated because it doesn't have an official video which is sad. Best song from Metal Galaxy for sure. Arkadia is the third song of a trilogy of songs (Starlight, Shine and Arkadia) that are meant to be an emotional journey through the hardships the band had to fight in 2018 (Yui's departure, Mikio Fujioka's death). Arkadia is the last step on the trilogy, that is meant to be their decision to continue going ahead. _For your dream, for your faith, for your life._

Arcadia was a Greek City-State back in the day, and did fight with Leonidas at Thermopylae , but that's not the use here. Arcadia has become a metaphor for a place where everything is living in harmony, and pretty sure that's what this song is about. They don't play 2 hours, on tour they play an hour/hour and a quarter for regular shows. This concert is abou 90ish minutes. They did a concert the night before with a completely different setlist, no songs duplicated, so they do memorize a bunch of choreo. Biggest crowd they have played for as a headliner is Tokyo Dome, 55,000.

The unhelpful guide is feminist propaganda. It's very distorted. She rewrites history to suit her narrative. The history of Suzuka Nakamoto is much much better. The woman who made the unhelpful guide pretends like Karen Girls and ASH never happened and that it's all because of Sakura Gakuin. Apparently Karen Girls wasn't feminist enough. She cherry picks lyrics from 2 songs to try to say that BABYMETAL are man hating feminists. None of it is true. For all the lyrics of Sis Anger the fact is that GJ says the exact opposite and the other 48 songs say nothing.

excellent content fellas, Arkadia in the Babymetal world is a city of lights within the metal galaxy, it's a land of hope and dreams, it heals your wounds from loss and sadness, that's why it's the finale of the trilogy of lights. they usually go for an hour non-stop, but that could change, Su and Moa have energy to spare and if they keep using multiple avengers, it's very possible, plus now that they are able to take their big show on the road, makes it even a better possibility, yeah you guys need to checkout the middle song of the trilogy "Shine" it's very emotional especially the debut of it, Just Su and Moa and an acoustic guitar, that looks like the one that Mikio gave to Moa, I'm tearing up just thinking about it.

I mean, just listen to Su in this video! Perfect vocals with all that choreo! People definitely cry during Babymetal shows. The girls (I think it was Su? idk) have talked about seeing fans crying in the crowd and how that's motivated them and made them realize the power in their music. You should check out 'Shine' live. Babymetal's own shows have been mentioned. But Babymetal at festivals in Europe are bigger crowds, different festivals: 60 000, 80 000, 90 000, some say the biggest had 100 000 people, I think that last one was an exaggeration. After the Tokyo Dome show Kobametal and the girls said: Tokyo Dome (55 000) doesn't feel as big as we expected. :-) Well Babymetal are youngest female artist to perform at Budokan, the youngest person to ever perform at Budokan was: Michael Jackson part of the Jackson Five. :-) Babymetal's big sisters in Amuse are Perfume, they are one of the biggest artists in Japan. They rank as best well known persons in Japan for any idol group in Japan. Although Babymetal and Perfume are artists, with idol origin, they are now just artist in many people's opinion. Babymetal has played at The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, it's the same venue (Ed Sullivan Theater) as the Beatles performed when they first performed in the US (The Ed Sullivan Show). It was the first Babymetal appearance on US television. Babymetal keeps growing their fan base, but they are working for it. It's not Michael Jackson or Beatles fast, but they are working on it.

THIS is my favorite from the MG album. This is the last song from the Trilogy of Lights. The first is Starlight and the second one is Shine. Shine is a ballad. Su belts a really high note here and also have a soothing voice. Moa also played the guitar intro here in their Legend M performance. The song itself us really heartwarming. The Trilogy of Lights is all about facing a loss or a problem. Starlight is about the pain and agony you feel, Shine is about facing it and trying to overcome it, and Arkadia is about moving on from it and looking forward to a place "for your dream, for your faith, and for your life, to a place beyond the light, with no more tears, no more pain, no more cry." The thing is Michael Jackson was the absolute top star of the absolute leader market of world pop culture and sang in English. Those are three tiny girls from Japan and while Japan is known as the second largest music industry in the world, it's impossible to compare both contexts. But yeah, they deserve as much praise as MJ got all the same at the time for how young and how talented they are. Not judging by the crowds they gather. But in terms of biggest crowds I guess it's 60k in music festivals (around that number) but as a solo-artist concert, obviously Tokyo Dome, with 55k people two nights in a row ;). As for winding down, there's always things to react to even if it's not necessarily music related. Like interviews, compilations of funny moments, the unhelpful guide, all of the Sakura Gakuin songs and videos from 2010 to 2015 (and that's a big fat catalog of videos right there) ;).

Great reaction, this is such an amazing song. Power metal with an ABBA like chorus, very appropriate for our Dancing Queens. Next, it would be great to do Kagerou, another great song. Frankly, they are not "that" big even in Japan. Metal just doesn't draw huge numbers anywhere, and they are big for a metal band but pop bands easily sell out stadiums. Same happens in the US, where aside from a handful of bands (Metallica, Slipknot and maybe a few others), Metal is just not that big.

What you said is what i've been saying since i had that epiphany last year - it's just nice to finally hear it from someone else lol Both times I've seen BABYMETAL in person i can say that there were a few moments when my legs were unexplainably weak in the tidal wave of their presence and i'll leave it at that. I'd be willing to bet that Tokyo Dome was their largest concert at 55,000 but they probably could have sold it out 3X over. In the spirit of "triumphantness" check out their folk song "Meta Taro" about a metal hero!

Their shows are only about an hour and fifteen minutes long. I've been to 20 shows, small venue shows and arena shows including Tokyo Dome and The Forum, and that's about the length of all their shows. Between 12 and 14 songs total each show. They ONLY do full songs. They've never done a melody and I've only seen cutdown versions of songs for Japanese television shows. As for choreography, not only do they have to remember all the Babymetal choreo but also the Sakura Gakuin choreography when they were in SG back in the day. Now THOSE Sakura Gakuin shows were 2 to 3 hours long. Talk about talent. Screw the haters who have NO idea what they're capable of. Su will be 23 this December 20th. I've cried at Babymetal concerts and when I saw them up close but I didn't faint. Lol. Suggestion for next Babymetal song: "Shine" to finish up the trilogy of lights. Arkadia,Shine, and Starlight.

Some of my favorite Metal Galaxy songs that you haven't reacted to are "Night Night Burn!", personally because it represents my ethnicity (which I won't say yet cause I don't wanna spoil the song for you), and "Brand New Day", there's something about this song that helps me calm my anxiety, which I deeply appreciate 💕

You would be very lucky to see Babymetal in a concert like this. They do two shows in a huge setting for video release and tour as opening acts or in smaller venues. Not that the concerts are not amazing but it is not anyway in this scale. I use Alice Cooper as a comparison as he can scale his shows to provide the visual on almost any scale. His shows run around two hours and have a wide set list depending on venue. Babymetal will do these shows and offer the videos then do tours in small venues with no tech. Check the length of the sets since they reduced the musical solos of the musicians. Vocal backing tracks and adjustments .. etc.. But ... I love them in concert and it all doesn't matter .. They are what they are and if they can pull in a younger crowd or wake up the older ones that have been sleeping it is all good. I hope they can age well and their music can grow with them.

MJ was bigger of course, but he was pop and got radio playtime which BM does not also he sang in English which helps too, but to be fair I think once you pass a certain point comparisons are meaningless, I mean was MJ bigger than Elton John? Freddy Mercury? Paul McCartney? where do you even start to compare the legends? BM aren't there yet maybe they will fall short but time is on their side and who knows? a lot will depend on the next album and if they can keep the winning formula going. Personally I think they could sell out a 100k stadium, but they tend not to do those anymore because of safety regulations, even if the venue can hold that many people you have to do it safely and be able to insure against a tragedy occurring, I think its a lot easier to just do more smaller shows now days than those mega concerts of the past. By the way 55k has been the largest BM concert but they have played festivals with larger crowds

I like to think that the choreography at 08:20 is them smacking all the haters and doubters over the past 10 years

They do get breaks when the kamiband do their solos also su does solos where she doesn’t do much dancing and they use to have black Babymetal so they do get breaks. I thought the same as you until I saw a whole concert but remembering all the choreography I haven’t got a clue and yes that drummer is insane

I'd say the first Babymetal Album is them forming their sound, Metal Resistance was definitely them trying to pump it up to 11. And Metal Galaxy is definitely the maturity of Babymetal come to fruition. I wonder what the next album is gonna be

Someone will correct me if I am wrong, but I believe their #1 most attended concert was 110,000 unique fans over the course of 2 nights, 55k per night at Tokyo Dome 2016. Also one of their coolest sets with the massive spinning stage and moving platforms.
@rickwagner-3 жыл бұрын
Yes, those were their biggest headlining shows so far.

Highest attendance is 55k for each of the Tokyo Dome shows. Theyve played at festivals which probably had higher but aren't strictly a BM show.

I don't pay attention to the lyrics of most BabyMetal songs. But every time I listen to this song, I listen to the lyrics carefully because they are full of hope. Thank you for your reaction!

There are 2 concerts that had the Moast crowds, Tokyo Dome for 2 nights, about 100,000 and Budikan for 2 nights Red Night Black Night about 270,000. to date

Your Budokan numbers are totally off. BABYMETAL reported 10,000 people per night at Budokan, over two soldout nights. Their biggest headlining shows were the two soldout nights at Tokyo Dome with 55,000 per night.
