Thanks, Amal! Such a heartbreaking performance! This song and performance brought tears to my eyes specially because of Amal and her song's role in Arab spring which reminds me of Iran's beloved singer Shervin Hajipoor and his protest song "Baraye" which has become the anthem of Mahsa Amini's movement🥺 The melody of the song that Amal is performing here is a famous Persian song called "Soltan e ghalbha" (king of hearts) which is tied with Nika Shakarami's memory. She was a brave 16- year-girl who was kidnapped and brutaly tortured to death by IR security police during one of Mahsa's movement protest in Tehran. Her video who was cheerfully performing this song among her friends is one of the women, life, freedom revolution's iconic images.
