Holocaust survivor, Honey Chester, was born in Magdeburg, Germany in 1928. She survived the Holocaust after being rescued on the Kindertransport. Honey was interviewed in London, England in 2019 as part of USC Shoah Foundation’s Last Chance Testimony Collection Initiative.
As long as there are still Holocaust witnesses ready to speak, their voices must be heard. Time is running out. We must act now to collect the remaining testimonies of Holocaust witnesses - before it is too late. The Last Chance Testimony Collection is a surge to film survivor (and other witness) testimonies. To schedule an interview for yourself or somebody you know, please complete the form available at sfi.usc.edu/last-chance.

I love that the interviewer realized that Honey would tell her story her way right away. She was very nice and patient with Honey. Lovely.

What a lovely woman. She has a phenomenal memory and I enjoyed listening to her. She definitely has a strong mind and her interviewer did a good job just letting her tell her story the way she wanted too. God bless her and her family.

Lovely lady! Very hard to follow her story because she skipped all over the place. The interviewer did a nice job letting her speak. Very interesting!

I always think of my mom when listening to these stories. She was born in 1936. She could easily have been any of the lovely ladies who survived the madness.

I wish the interviewer had written down the questions. Honey is clearly hearing impaired and this would made communication between them far easier!

You are an Absolutely beautiful, lovely woman. There is nothing more evil than what you and loved ones were subjected to. Completely outrageous- these stories should be taught in every class level in elementary and middle school 5-8 th grade when children are developing morality and experiment with good and bad. They need to know what evil there can be in this world to make certain this never happens again. It’s an honor to listen to you speak - such a brave, courageous woman. I will never forget your story my heart breaks for what you had to endure.

Why should children be exposed to the Jewish Holocaust at such an early age? In the USA they should study the Native American genocide or something more culturally relevant. The Holocaust should be an elective in HS or later.

Why do these interviewers do spelling contests during the interview? Can't they get this information pre- broadcast?

The person writing the closed captions (which I’m grateful for!) needs to learn to recognize and spell Shoah!!! 😊

That's Menachem Pressler, who founded the Beaux Arts trio. His name must have been Max before the war

You wonder if many like her had the same hatred toward German people even before WW2, like she says. That might explain the hatred from the German side toward her group. Hatred has no excuse no matter who is doing it.
