My grandpappy was 39 years old during WWII and his brother told me how, when Grandpappy heard what Hitler was doing to the Jews, he told his brothers, "we HAVE TO STOP HIM!" And since the US military will not accept soldiers 40 + over, 9 months before his 40th birthday, he hurried up & inlisted. He was one of the US soldiers who liberated Auschwitz. He came home and never spoke of what he saw in there. He started drinking & smoking and 17 years later, he basically "died of a broken heart".

To say that only a few died compared to the many that died is absolutely absurd. I finally saw last month the movie Schindlers list. He felt that he could have saved more people. A very good film.

My late uncle was an USA army photographer. General Eisenhower ordered complete photographical, film & documentary recording of all they found in the concentration camps. My uncle asked why, it's horrendous to see, why do we have to do it? Ike went over to him, out an arm around his shoulders and said, "Son, I know it'll be rough on you guys. But we have to do it for 1 simple reason. Sometime in the future some bastxrd will claim it never happened. We'll have the proof that it really did!"
