This seems a super cool Loooper PLUS! 4 loop looper. Cool FX. I am into esoteric ambient. Curious if this might do the random note playback generator similar to the Cosmos? That fresh newness happening in the background... versus a repeating loop.... would be AWESOME!!!

@@ckrug32 one of those pretty much easy to fix thing they don't like to fix, as we can see. overall nice pedal with lots of micro dealbreakers. meanwhile, CBA Blooper gets more and more new buyers with its new firmwares and features. maybe, just maybe they got lots of orders and no time to fulfill them. Once the hype goes down, they'll introduce a new firmware that changes everything and cash reviewers up.

@@the92project in pre-fx mode, when you prefer to manipulate the loop"s sound on the fly, no, you can't. everything's wet. you can set mix to 0, but it will make both your loop and your instrument completely dry. without pre-fx your loop plays the way it was recorded, so you can't just kike filter it out with an expression pedal. leave them an email in case you don't like it.

Is there a way to play over a loop created with the microcosm drowned in fx without having the new signal affected by said fx? I'm thinking it might work if after creating the loop I'd change the effect to one of the multidelay algorithms and turning repeats and activity all the way down?

You could either just turn the Mix all the way down, or put it in Looper Only mode. Hope that helps!

the phrase looper don't sync perfectly with a external clock... in a few repetitions it goes out of sync on and on... Am I doing something wrong or its a bug?

looper only doesnt have fx beyond filter/reverb/pitch mod, so none of the wild effects of the microcosm on the rotary knob

Does it still output the effects in stereo in the phrase looper mode? Other pedals like the volante are limited to mono when using the looper mode.

Yes, the effects remain in stereo in Phrase Looper mode.

volante's mono is the huge dealbreaker. it's a shame for strymon to promote it as a stereo pedal with almost no mentions about this drawback.

Can the looper be set to fade out instead of stopping abruptly?

Yeah! "Fade Time" is the secondary control of the Loop Level knob. If you hold Shift and turn the Loop Level knob up, it will increase the fade time of the loop. You can configure Microcosm to either fade in, fade out, or fade in and fade out in the Global Configuration menu.

ok, confusing demo. Right at the top only using the looper only (not pre fx looper) it seems like you can add fx after recording but this is not possible...Am I right? try to find a way to do it and could not, unless of course I use the pre fx mode on looper. Is something wrong with my microcosm?

I'm not sure if this answers your question, but the only way to add FX after recording is to have the Phrase Looper in Pre-FX mode. The FX can't be recorded back into the loop, however. If the looper is exclusively configured in Looper Only, the independent FX will not be added after the loop has been recorded. Reverb would only be present if it was turned up while you were recording the loop. However, if you are in both Looper Only and Pre-Fx, the independent FX will be added to the loop when Mix is turned up. This is awesome, however I still can't figure out how to use the FADE TIME feature. Even at it's shortest setting, the overdubs seem to go on forever.....Can you offer any insights?

I just worked it out, it's not a loop repeat parameter. It actually dictates how long it takes for the pedal to fade in and out after bypassing on turning it on.

I really wanted this video to be better. I don’t need a break down of every single feature, that’s what the manual is for. What I need is a simple step by step guide of how create loops. The videos starts doing this then gets distracted by showing off features, rather than the workflow. Also rotating the unit around by 90 degrees makes this unwatchable on a phone. I love the product but some better training material would be great.

Sure would be great if someone would tell me how to get out of Phrase Looper mode. Do I need a Computer Science degree? Spent 4 hours trying to figure out finally just put pedal away. Ultra annoying!

I've usedloopers for over 10 years. This is the first one that has made it next to impossible to record a phrase...in time...exit that phrase and have it play back in time. It doesnt do sequential loops so it's a toy for little boys playing at home and has little to no use on a stage
