Unless you're strapping giant magnets to your hands, there are pretty major constraints on how much force it's physically possible to apply at a distance. Ultrasonic haptics are just shaking the air a little bit, but that's enough to feel the shape of objects.

The display is modular, so it can be assembled into large holographic walls, which is how it's intended to be used in most places (such as theme parks) from what I understand. They haven't been too specific about when exactly the first installations will be done, but it sounds like within a year or two.

No it's not. You can't move around a stereoscopic image and view it from different angles. If you don't even know that I highly doubt you helped invent anything. Also, stereoscopic stuff has been around for ages, only thing newish was doing it without glasses where they just used eye tracking. And the Nintendo 3Ds has that, which was showcased on E3 2010, 5 years before you claim to have "helped invent" it, so...

@@daniel4647 I don't quite understand how this works though. They said it doesn't use illusions so is it really volumetric? Because when they talked about the big panel, it clearly isn't volumetric because the image displayed has more depth than the panel itself, therefore it's an illusion. So they kinda contradicted themselves. The showcasing of this tech in this video is very poor considering the camera doesn't have depth perception, I feel like they don't do it justice. For example Voxon showcases their volumetric display really well... visually. They always have music on top of the video though because I suspect their tech makes a ton of noise.

That's fair, which is unfortunate since the technology is legit. Some rapid parallax or stereography would have definitely helped. This type of display can actually do things like the dolly-zoom effect, which the Looking Glass can't, so they certainly could have done a better job showing it off.
