I live in Colorado but I'm from Michigan. While I was home visiting a couple years ago I picked up many rocks from the shores of Lake Superior to bring back with me to paint on. They are all so beautiful! I took the rocks back in my carrying bag. The guy checking my bag at the Detroit airport looked at me like I was crazy when he saw all the rocks lol! ...and he let me keep them!😁 another great tutorial Rachel Thank you!!💕💕💕

Rachel, Rachel, Rachel... I'm holding you responsible! It's because of you and you're talent that got me into rock painting! I've tried several of your patterns, (to the moon teddy bear, chickadee on a branch and seed of life) of course they look nothing like yours. But who cares, this newly retired chick loves you. Keep up the good work my friend. Sylvie 😘

Beautiful!! Have been waiting for Amazon to deliver my rock painting supplies and impatience got the best of me so I headed to a nearby discount store to get some supplies. Not much to choose from but did get some cheap paint and a few other things which I thought I would try a paint pour. I mixed together white acrylic paint, white poster paint, and a little Vitamin E oil. I layered this with my colored paints and poured it over a black painted rock. It was a little thick so it didn't cover the entire rock but the pour made an interesting shape, and because of the thickness it looks 3D sort of like the pictures of the ocean floor. And it looks better and better as it dries. I did put some glitter gel over the black areas which makes that background pop. Going to let the rock dry for several days before I spray it with Triple Thick. Next project is a ladybug like the lady bugs on my bracelet created by a jewelry artist out of Miami named Hidalgo. He does beautiful enamel work similar to how you paint your rocks. Check out his jewelry which may be an inspiration for some future rocks. 😘

Love this set! Gorgeous! Searching for rocks is wonderful fun, but I hope people realize that you can't take any from National Parks. It's illegal. Now, I don't know if there are rock police around, but if you get caught, there is a big fine.

There are places on lake Superior that it's perfectly fine to take rocks from the beach and water. Always check though.

Love your videos so much! What kind of paint brush are you using to get such an accurate writing on the stone? I am new to this and cant seem to keep enough paint to do the accurate writing you are doing. I usually use a paint pen and still cannot get the same solid paint look. Should I be using tube acrylic paint as well? Thank you so much!

Beautiful as Always!! Question: Can you resin the rocks 1st - before this process?? I would hate to mess up a beautiful rock with my horrible penmanship!! Would be nice to 'scratch off' my misrakes before proceeding with the steps!

Rachel these are gorgeous! Question tho…. How does the holographic powder stick to the top coat? Does it ( top coat ) stay a bit sticky after being under the UV light ?
@rachelsrockscanada2 жыл бұрын
There is some kind of magic and the holographic powders just stay on there. Mine is not sticky at all, it's called "no wipe top coat".
@Skittl13212 жыл бұрын
Does this only work with a no wipe topcoat, or will it work with a gel basecoat?

@rachelsrockscanada2 жыл бұрын
I'm using a uv gel top coat for nails. I cure it under the nail lamp. The rub on holographic powder which sticks to the gel topcoat.
