Those all look really great! You're actually supposed to remove the holographic plastic to get the holographic effect. Then you can use them again.

If you want the colors/ hologram to pop, add a dark last layer to the bottom. You will be Amazed at the difference. Black is especially dramatic!

Lately I have become obsessed with resin molds and came across some small (1"x1") butterfly molds that are holographic. Before adding them to my 'wish list' I thought I best look at some videos on how they work. This was the first one I looked at! Quite interesting seeing how the holograph actually comes out onto the resin! I would love to see how these are made. :)

You should try out gallery glass stained glass paints. I think the colors are durable. You could probably use those on cured resin and maybe cover with a layer of resin. I think the colors are pretty lasting, too. Might be fun to experiment with those. Unicorn Spit stains are also very interesting.

I like these! I think, with the film, leaving the film in would result in the same effect as doming the ones with the holographic pattern in the molds. Since the holographic pattern was on the side where you poured the resin, you actually momentarily filled in the pattern - and removing the film made it show again. I think you could make a holographic inlay by making a mold of the film - and then you'd have a reusable holographic inlay. I wonder if the holographic pattern would show on eco pour? I've seen a holo effect transfer to chocolate, but is chocolate shinier than eco pour?

I had success with Doreen Bow holographic coaster moulds. They are a bit pricey at around £20 on amazon, but they gave me really nice results. I wish I'd taken a photo of them before giving them away.

The best way to get holographic on your resin art is holographic nail foil/film. The best thing is you can dome them and the holographic stays

Maybe try using the holographic film while making a mold and see if you can make silicone sheets of the pattern

The holographic film work by having microgrooves in different directions to simulate the pattern. I don't think it would be visible if the sheet is left in the epoxy because the epoxy and mould may have a similar refractive index. So removing hologram mold from resin would be required to see the pattern I believe

I am finally going to start my journey with resin jewelry, but the internet is making my brain melt. I need help/suggestions. What glue is the best for stud earrings, I keep reading about B6000 and E6000 but haven’t been able to figure out what the difference between them are. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!! ❤❤

The film you used doesn't really have deep enough grooves for the shimmer, look for diffreaction film or sheet for the real stuff, its way more expensive but is reusable

The only downside to the premade holographic molds, is that the holographic just rubs off. You can't dome it or anything. So, I just don't know how to protect the holographic side to keep it.

@@2degucitas The holographic effect is created by very small ‘V’ shaped grooves in the surface of the molds, the grooves are picked up by the resin. If you dome the resin you fill the grooves so they are gone and cannot refract the light anymore. Also because the grooves are very fine and on the surface of the coaster that you use to put cups/mugs on, they can be worn away over time by abrasion.

Could you use hot glue in a pattern cooled off covered with gold leaf put in coaster in small amound of resin the covered with colored resin i would like you to try it

Your coasters didn't work because you are supposed to use the window film to make the mold.. the holographic effect embeds itself in the silcone( when you pull the window film off).. all you did with the voadyrrs was embedd the holo side in the resin.. taking away the holo but leaving the patterned plastic. That's why it didnt work. Use the film to make the molds

I have used Window film and it works well when you remove the film, just make sure you use mould release! Just make sure you don't make the mistake I did, of not having the holographic side being face up! Such a fail!!😊
