This actually explains Haachama's cooking videos so much. She not lying about not knowing how to cook bc her foreign exchange host parents would go out to eat without her, and never make food for her. She's not lying about saying her own cooking tastes good because that's the kind of food she would make by herself, and is used to eating on the daily. God I'm so sad now

That's true but I think she's trolling hard as well, even if you have never touched food in your life you can still cook better than... that
@elpapasfritas644 жыл бұрын
Well cooking is learned by your surroundings most of the time, so if no one was cooking around her, it's possible to not know anything about cooking, even with cooking tutorials
@stairdeer83704 жыл бұрын
What a weird logic you present. You do not learn how to cook by living in a environment where people prepare meals for you. My older brother had almost all his meals prepared by our mother and sometimes by me, my mother is a professional cook, I'm a hobbyist. We cook around him all the time, due to your logic he could know something about cooking. He doesn't, he knows how to make bratwurst and scrambled eggs, nothing more. The ONLY way to learn cooking is by doing it yourself. Haato probably doesn't cook very often and buys her food instead. Also, her food that she cooked might not look good but I'm sure it tasted fine.
@user-dm8zp9ru8h4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, you don't learn how to cook if meal is prepared for you everyday, bruh. It is exactly that she is not being prepared food, that she either has to learn how to cook or to get a take out, but given the circumstances at the time, I'd say she just get some take out and probably just prepares some instant ramen meal like you see in her ramen video. So it explains her cooking, just differently.

I'm also a student in Australia currently, although I'm in my second year of university, going into 3rd soon. If Haato really is in 12th grade, we're about 2 to 3 years apart. Rent here can be crazy high. I'm lucky enough to have found a place and rent just decreased to a bit below A$1000 per month for the next 6 months since it's on contract based. Plus where I come from, Australian dollars are really expensive to buy from my local currency. I haven't been able to get a part time job, partly because I think Australians might not want foreigners, although that might be my frustrations, but also partly that might be my fault for not trying hard enough lol. And I can attest that when we still had physical classes, Australian and European people would have their own group and each country would have their own group, so, chinese students would get their own group, indian students, indonesian and so on. I was also bullied when I was younger, so I guess that made me mentally stronger. I was a bit of a crybaby though when I started getting bullied. Guess that bullying made me stronger haha.... Anyway, now that I'm living alone, I guess I can cope with that more than your average person. Thanks for reading if you've reached so far.

Im pretty sure shes lying about the highschool part. This thing probably happened a couple years ago and since her setting is 18 y.o she just said it happened in highschool. As much as I hate to say it, it makes sense for people to group up based on their nationality. At the end of the day, you are more likely to be more comfortable with your own kind as you and them have the same cultural background. And of course, being able to speak in your native language is much better than having to constantly speak in English.

native australian here and i can say it's just ridiculously difficult to find a job, especially at the moment. i recently spent a great deal of time unemployed despite multiple applications daily because competition for even the most unskilled jobs is extremely high. best way to find jobs is networking, so if you're still at university, probably the most important thing you can do apart from actually passing your degree is making as many acquaintances as possible since they could very well end up stepping stones in your chosen field

Damn Haachama is really mature for an 18 year old. However I know for a fact that overcoming that level of adversity for her age yet being able to hold a positive outlook on life is going to shape her into a great person in the future. We all face challenges and difficult situations in our life in some shape or form and some people just face them sooner then others. And despite losing that innocence and purity you begin with, I believe you find something more precious in overcoming a challenge and emerging victorious over it. It loosens the control of things you thought were bigger then you and makes you a more confident person. If anyone is struggling with something in their life right now I want to remind you guys to have the courage to look your adversity in the face. You are stronger and can handle more then you think. As long as you keep moving forward you will get through it. Smile as much as you can just like I find Haachama does and be good people. Help others who are struggling in their lives. Not by involving yourself in their issues but by holding a space where they can confide in you. This could and should be simple things like hearing their stories. Smiling when you pass people. Asking how someone's days been. Compliments. Acts of kindness can largely impact a person within their current frame of life. And you never know who really needs it.

@richterlonewolf4 жыл бұрын
@@andreiyakazimir4286 that's the problem. Most of the foreign vocabulary that is written in Katakana simulates various other languages, not only english , for example some words are from the vocabulary in french, german, russian ando spanish , among others.

I studied Russian in college, and my school had a lot of Japanese exchange students There was a Japanese exchange student in my Russian class, and I don't know if she was the bravest human being the world has ever known, or if she signed up for classes too ambitiously. I can't imagine a language less friendly to native Japanese speakers than Russian: (the polite) hello is pronounced "zdravstvuytye" (здравствуйте). Mad respect for trying though, I would've done way worse in her shoes

That must be really sucks, as someone that was bullied, I always want to help other people that's bullied or ostracized I agree with Haachama, if you're never struggling like that you'll never grow up Especially facing all kinds of "bully" or toxic relationship like that It's a pretty precious experience to have, to make you grow stronger than the them, since the "bully" themselves usually can't stand for themselves if they're not in their group

Thank you for this video. I was very worried about Haachama because of the whole Taiwan controversy. I'm worried much less now. I know she will make it through this because she is strong.

The thing that amazes me the most about certain languages is how it can sound really cheerful while conveying nothing but pain. The story is absolutely insane, and it’s near absurd that this was the circumstances she had to go through. But what an incredible journey for her, and to see the person she’s become at the end of all that suffering.

Saw this video after listening to her Country Roads cover. Damn the emotions. Even though I'm not a transfer student myself but I can feel Haato. Being treated badly by the host family, mocked by some brats and bullied by other students, it's just too sucks. Glad that Haato joined Hololive and having lots of friends. After I heard about her host family stopped prepare meals for her and she had to deal with it herself, I wouldn't be surprised by how bad she is. Maybe it is real about how bad she is or maybe it is just for content, but still, I respect Haachama. To be honest, her cooking has been improving quite a lot (except her mentos cola yakiniku and other weird stuff) and turns out quite edible (despite how chaotic during the cooking segment). At least she is trying hard on it. I admit I don't like Haachama at first when I fell into the rabbit hole because of how crazy she is but right now I will say that both Haato and Haachama are in my top 10 favourites.

Damn, it's really tough to go through this video. As cliche as it might be, I guess it can be true that the ones who laugh and smile the most probably had a tough struggle in life. All this just makes Haachama more endearing, and I will always support her. 😭

Haachama should be Hachichama. Yeah being bullied isn't fun. But it can also make you like the title said "became mentally strong". I has been.. bullied once. But after that, you can... like literally do everything by yourself, .... everything can become easy mode after that. So yeah, bully is bad and we should stop it. But look at the bright side,... it can train you to become a better person... (i think).

Thanks for translating this, I can understand more of what kind of person Haachama is and it definitely explains her complex about her English (though not sure if she still has one). Also the bit at the end about her being an idiot reminds me of Baka and Test, how idiots have their own way to go about things. It certainly makes me want to root for her.

"I kinda didn't wanna see them" Man that really speaks volume on how their relationship twisted and turn sour. Saddest part is that they are blood related relatives, imagine ditching a 16 yo girl on her own to hustle. Compassion and empathy really is subjective. Plus despite all those racist remarks and mockery she endured because of her influent English, she is still polite and interactive with her en viewers online, really happy that racism didnt get the better of her, i hope she meets some nice en folks in the future.

It's kind of admirable that Haato can go through those experiences and come out stronger for it. I've known people who have broken down for way less. Haato seems to have kind of bad luck in general but it never seems to get her down. More respect to her, I hope she can keep going and never lose that smile. That degenerate smile
