The technical term is _intrauterine cannibalism._ Quoth, Wikipedia, "- - a behaviour in some carnivorous species, in which multiple embryos are created at impregnation, but only one or two are born. The larger or stronger ones consume their less-developed siblings as a source of nutrients. In adelphophagy or embryophagy, the fetus eats sibling embryos, while in oophagy it feeds on eggs.[49][50] Adelphophagy occurs in some marine gastropods (calyptraeids, muricids, vermetids, and buccinids) and in some marine annelids (Boccardia proboscidia in Spionidae).[51] Intrauterine cannibalism is known to occur in lamnoid sharks[52] such as the sand tiger shark, and in the fire salamander,[53] as well as in some teleost fishes."

Once, long ago an Italian-American college friend invited me to dinner at his aunt's house. He turned out to have two aunts who lived together, both born in the old country. The whole extended family showed up. I had never _seen_ so much food on one table before. Both of his aunts did the central casting "you-a so skinny, eat! eat!" thing to everyone there, including me (and I assure you I was no such thing). We left after three hours of chaos and amazing food, at which point I could barely fold in the middle enough to get into the car. "I guess maybe I shoulda warned you," my friend said before starting the engine. I think I said something along the lines of, "I regret only that I have but one life to give for that meal."

Some random kid clown thinking it makes you a bigger person. Also, it is fine to live with family. It's your problem if you can't get along with your family. More so fine these years with the insanity of prices for just about everything.

Somewhat felt very witty writing that. Like sure, everyone has their own situations. Maybe you cant, maybe you dont get along with your family, maybe you just dont want to. But like "too old" is a really stupid remark.

she has like what many people have is a displaced jaw which is why she gets the popping and crackle sound when she chews its quite common what doctors do to fix that they break your jaw realign it let it heal and no more popping or crackle sound but during the whole time you be eating through a straw and pretty much cant move the jaw

Going back literally as far as I can remember, we basically had family dinner for Thanksgiving or at my father's when it was just me and him. At my mother's, because she, my sister, and I all liked to watch tv while eating and stuff and especially because I was so picky I never ate what they did, basically... and sometimes I just got hungry at different times or wasn't hungry when they were eating... I usually just ate whatever I wanted in my room. My mother or sister would often eat in front of the tv in the living room. My sister never really had a big tv, nor space for it in her tiny ass room lol. (I believe I offered her one of the like 7 my father got for me. She was just like, "Nah, I wouldn't have anywhere to put it.") My mother and then-step-father would sometimes eat at the table in the kitchen/dining room, and my sister would join them more often than not, since she's not a picky eater. And to be clear, I was basically always invited. Not really like "invited" verbally, but they made it clear I could sit with them any time, eating or not. But like, why would I? Sometimes we'd have one of the few things I did eat, like a spaghetti dinner (with meatballs, of course), or they'd at least be eating something with corn on the cob, and is either sit at the table, too, or probably more likely in the computer chair like 3ft away lol. (We didn't have that much space, and usually the table didn't have the extension leaves or whatever in, so it was far easier to seat 3 than 4 there. And the computer chair was more comfy, anyway. Plus, even with them, I just don't like crowds, so being at the computer desk was my preference, anyway. I'd still consider that "eating together" since we were feet apart and eating at the same time.) Honestly, never bothered me. Hell, it bothered me more to eat with like 7+ people at Thanksgiving. Sometimes I still didn't even do that, if I wasn't hungry. I'd sit vaguely nearby, but probably more like 5-10ft (depending on which side of the table they were sitting on) and but into the conversation on occasion... and then eat when I was hungry. But IF I was hungry and my father didn't have a gf over or something, I'd usually eat at the same table or the counter. (We could often fit like 4-5 tops at the table and 3 more at the counter, which was like 2ft from the table. It actually became a chore for whoever sat on that side of the table and at the counter to squeeze by each other) so like, when we had 9+ people around... I'd just go eat at the living room table 5ft away again. I preferred to be further from everyone anyway, so problem solved lmao. Honestly, not that I ever want kids, but I think I'd have the exact same parenting style, unless my s/o was adamant about family meal time. Basically, "If you want to eat near us/with us/what we eat you can. If not, you don't have to." And just to clarify since I said I often DID eat with my father... he usually just waited until I was hungry and ate whatever I wanted to eat. And usually we didn't even have a 3rd person over... But oddly rather than sitting on opposite ends of the table, he'd usually sit at an end and I preferred the middle/side closer to the fridge and escaping to the bathroom, my room, or out the door of the house lmao

it makes me want to say "what did they not have a family" but then that makes me feel bad at the thought, but clearly whats going on is they are one of those unfortunate people who grew up through the new age where things are different, but some families still taught and enforced terrible old lessons. you know like abandoning everything you did or liked when you were younger because: adult now, no more fun, become willingly sad and boring until death, caring for each other is a sign of weakness, etc.
