The evidence suggests that IRL Mumei likely grew up in the G3 Era, where Rainbow Dash was also initially Popular among the Toys - in the accompanying Cartoon however, G3 Rainbow Dash had the Personality of G4 Rarity, but shallower. Mumei, if she can be believed, possibly didn't watch the Cartoon that aired alongside the G3 Toyline, giving reason why she didn't know the personalities or backstories behind the Ponies, and was simply wanting to play with the toys everyone else was using... As MLP G3 progressed though the Cartoon got worse, and the short Spin-Off based around the character's childhoods was even Worse (and at one point, Creepy as Hell) - and it's Toys were just as Bad. Suddenly liking MLP became something to be hated, and children quickly picked up on these vibes, Bullying anyone still showing their feelings for the Franchise. Being a Fan during those times was a Social Nightmare, so Mumei could very well be showing PTSD from her experiences within her Childhood - even if she hadn't watched the Show, children back then were Ruthless when bullying someone for things they themselves didn't know or understand, and just attacked people for things they think are Bad without reason - much like the majority of Humanity nowadays! Perhaps there's a Reason her HoloLive Character embodies the Degradation of Civilization... Whether she watched the MLP Cartoons or not, Mumei's not comfortable with showing her love for the franchise yet - and the other girls shouldn't be trying to force a confession out of her On-Stream...

To this day she has some anxieties about expressing her interest in anime to others irl even though it has become more popular and acceptable over the years. I’m sensing a pattern of behaviors from Moom struggling to express her genuine feelings about past and current interests. But considering how well she handled that perfursons drawing stream with Fauna, there is still potential for Mumei healing from those insecurities and accepting herself.
