Table top review of the Holosun HS403C AR-15 Red Dot with solar power option. A excellent sub $200 red dot sight that includes 1/3rd and low mount risers.

I lost one of the screws as I was trying to put the battery in. Sadly thank God it came with the other tray

Thanks for the review, I purchased one because of its mounting height, not to co witness, but to be able to use the irons underneath the red dot housing, my AR has a slightly raised rail where the carry handle would normally be, and it was enough to clear the irons as a back up.
@reliablethreat232 жыл бұрын
That's called "lower 1/3 co-witness"
@DB-rg2dk2 жыл бұрын
@@reliablethreat23 I'm pretty sure co witness is when you can see the iron sights inside the red dot glass, 1/3rd from the bottom of the circle to the center of the dot. Mine is not a co witness because I can not see both sights at the same time. Technically I am using irons as a back up.
@reliablethreat232 жыл бұрын
@@DB-rg2dk Exactly. "Lower 1/3 co-witness" is when the optic sits higher than the iron sights. The red dot floats above the front sight post rather than directly lining up with it.
@reliablethreat232 жыл бұрын
@@DB-rg2dk "Absolute co-witness" is when the iron sights line up with the red dot.
@DB-rg2dk2 жыл бұрын
@@reliablethreat23 yeah you aren't getting what I'm saying, my red dot optic sits completely above the irons line of sight, if I am looking thru the irons, I'm looking thru the mounting bracket under the red dot. That's how high my Holo sits.

I am near sighted too. Can’t see far/a foot or more in front of me without contacts or glasses. Where do you position the optic on the pict. rail? I think towards front of barrel is better (further from my eyes). But I’m looking for others w similar situations feedback. Thanks!

I was not expect that the holosun was made in china as I can read below the mount...is this the original holosun?Because I want to buy one but I'm not sure
@2phast5 жыл бұрын
The sight and riser are both made in China. Good quality stuff!

How do you know if it is on battery or solar mode?
@darkimperial0073 жыл бұрын
The buttons wont adjust the brightness if its on solar

does it increase magnification for longer ranges???
@2phast7 жыл бұрын
Red dots like these don't provide any magnification. You could use a flip to side magnifier, if you need magnification.
@McFartsnatcher2 жыл бұрын
I know this is an old comment, but I bought a tacticon magnifier for around $70 and it alined perfectly with the Holosun (shown in this video). I wanted to see if it works, especially being so cheap, and it's held up great so far. Cheers!

hiw do you like it vs the pa advanced micro red dot
@moderngunguy36667 жыл бұрын
Kevin Greenleaf holosun makes the primary arms Red Dot so they are exactly the same
@sunnycat697 жыл бұрын
Modern gun guy not necessarily primary arms announced the next-gen in their Advanced Micro Red Dot it's supposed to be way more weather and they went with the knob style brightness controls instead of buttons also even more of a low pro emitter and better glass as in no blue tint
@moderngunguy36667 жыл бұрын
No Holosun is better than primary arms or the same. Holosun also has a whole new line out now it's probably the same one that they sold to primary arms either way holosun makes there red dots
@2phast7 жыл бұрын
The existing PA MD-ADS red dot does not have a blue tint to it. The new PA red dot is actually still under development and no pre-production units are available yet, when they are, you will get to see it first on my channel. FWIW, PA has no production facilities to build their own sights.

Primary Arms AMD sight is made by Holosun to PA specifications. 'Nuff said.

Are the lens supposed to be not straight?
@reliablethreat232 жыл бұрын
Yes. They are slanted by design to reduce glare.
@b-rad69782 жыл бұрын
yes it is by design, very very good sights. better bang for the buck than aimpoint t2.

I have a Holosun on a CZ with the 2moa and it is a small dot--- must be the filming because the dot here looks as big as a pencil eraser!!!!
@zachmccausland11573 жыл бұрын
I was thinking the same thing! I was wondering if mine was advertised as a 2moa and really a 1moa 🧐
