I have used it in my Land Rover’s previous engine just to seal off any micro cracks that may appear as a preventative measure. I did not drain the Wondarweld for at least 3 days and I replaced the thermostat anyhow.

How many hours starting the vehicle process time

In the video it says to leave it for 15 minutes until the thermostat opens. I read somewhere to leave it for 3 daysto drive it . I did it for half an hour out of 3 times because the thermostat opened at 15 minutes... if you are asking how long do you leave the vehicle when you turn it off with Holts Wondarweld in it, it's good to leave it for 8 hours and then wash it well!

Your quick answer will be appreciated. I ordered the product and I will have it today, but I am facing a problem in disassembling the thermostat, as access to it is difficult in my 2008 Mazda 5. I will add it to the other hose. Will this help?

it will clog the radiator cooler and maybe the thermostat too. Works with water, not antifreeze!!

i have oil in my expansion tank, so there is a crack from internal oil channel to internal coolant chanel. There is NO external leak visable. How can this product distiguish this type of crack, i dont understand how it can work/if it can work in my case?

@@MrRichard57000 yes, that's why I was sceptical about it being able to fix my radiator, plus not following the instructions to pour it down the water pump.

@@masonichisenga3032 well the instructions say pour it in the engine block(behind the thermostat) important is that you use only water, no antifreeze.... I'm curious if the wonderweld is going to make an improvement in my case.... I just let it in there and before the winter I chance it with antifreeze...

@@MrRichard57000 I am curious, in the case where the cylinder block has a crack as it were, doesn't that mean that oil and water are mixing and if that is the case, don't you have a host of issues that won't wait for you to pour this stuff in it...

No, it's better in the thermostat position. A trick to avoid removing the thermostat is to drop it into the radiator's radiator pipe which is right below the thermostat! In fact, you can join the 2 pipes of the radiator together so that it doesn't risk getting clogged when you drop it in for the repair!!

As my thermostat sits below the engine block, can I then just throw it directly through the outlet pipe into the engine block from the top?

@@CliffordPeterViljoen I assume that since in the instructions the engine must be cold and run with the thermostat closed for these 15 minutes until it opens as it says, the water will not turn before the material takes effect. because it is greasy and to get it in contact with the whole head and the head gasket, add some water after the Holts Wondarweld into the pipe you will pour it

It wasn't for this expansion tank. But for the thermostat pipe and it definitely wanted emptying and flushing after 3 days

@HoltsAuto Your urgent response will be greatly appreciated as I need to use the product now. When using it in a vw golf mk1 1.6i afx engine, do I need to remove the thermostat? As my thermostat does not mount to my cylinder head but instead, the bottom radiator hose where it connects to my water pump, where my thermostat is seated, inside a flange on the water pump.

To work well it obviously needs to drop into the cylinder head so you can drop it into the pipe that comes out of it and goes to the water cooler.

used it to repair a minor crack or leakage from cilinder gasket.....can i leave the wonderwelt in the engine for a few days,ore do i have to flush it out wen it cooled down?????

@Ons Huis the thermostat opening is big enough I think, I could worry about the radiator tubes.... Radiator tubes are 1.5mm I estimate but cracks over 0.75mm can t be repaired I thought? Anyway for now it s flowing and cooling as it should, still have a bubble from time to time which will remove a bit of coolant from my radiator..... Overall till now mildly content, we made progress because I have less bubbles and air as before.... Maybe it needs a few day more ?

In the instructions it says when it cools down, elsewhere I have read 8 hours after it has been washed off. In a parts store they say after 3 days with gentle driving!
