Frank was the most honest. He was always himself. Good or bad, he doesn"t pull any punches. Always calls it the way he sees it. But the writers temper his character with lots of humour, so he can be tolerated, and even laughed at.

What has always amazed me in a negative way is the fact that although Frank said the funniest lines in the show and was the most accomplished actor of the lot, he was the only member of the cast who never won an Emmy/award. This is utterly bizarre to say the least.

In my grief , when getting a new miniature Dachshund, I named him “ Taffy, in Memory of Candy “. That was his official name. TAFFY, IN MEMORY OF CANDY . Different color…..different sex, but in my aching heart……the connection was THERE for all eternity. After Taffy died, I decided to switch to cats. 7-11-2024. I'm rewatching all the seasons. It's a very good series. It shows how women are annoying, domineering, manipulative and complaining about everything. But men who can't live without women are the ones to blame. After six marriages I discovered how good it is to live alone, to have freedom. I do what I want, how I want and when I want. I'm MGTOW. Robert is right. He's single. Debra is bossy and very annoying, in fact, like most women. Marie, bossy and nosy. Only Frank to bear it. It's very sad that the series has ended and Doris Roberts and Peter Boyle have died. Excellent actors.

Some of Marie's manipulative tactics reminded me of my mom... I lost a chunk of my life trying to understand where she was coming from. I'm no saint but I wanted to understand why... Marie's character is very well written, sometimes I can't watch "ELR" either. Everyone on the show is not as conniving as her, they're usually lazy, crass, uneducated, sloppy but they only hurt themselves... not Marie, she manipulates and create schemes on purpose.
