Matt, I really love that you respect these trucks enough to return them to how they were...getting rid of the restomod stuff is awesome. keep up the fantastic work. Are you going to keep it or sell it on? I vote for keeping this one.

I grew up on and love my Chevy trucks. Respectfully, I can’t say I’ve ever been into fords although I have a great appreciation for all the REAL STEEL vehicles of days gone by. I’m now a Chevy guy who enjoys watching you and backyardalaskan with your fords as you have so much appreciation, knowledge, and respect for these trucks. Keep up the good work.

I had a chance to buy one of these in 1981 for 800 dollars. It was a stock 1969 crew cab f250 4x4 highboy with a winch. White in color. It was a good running daily driver. Certainly not a desired vehicle at that time and place but I wanted it. I was 17 years old at the time and my Mom wouldn't let me buy it. I was pissed off then, and I'm still pissed about it 42 years later. It's one of those regrets that's never gone away.

I'm glad I found this channel. I have a 73 F250 High Boy step side with a 300 six, best motor Ford ever built (yeah I'm a six cylinder nut) that I rebuilt 30 years ago when I bought it and it is still going strong. Many trucks have come and gone over the years but the Ford is a keeper. My latest upgrade is a Steerman electric power steering conversion. I look forward to watching more episodes on your latest build.

That’s so funny to find that pass through on that amazing highboy cab. I know I’ve mentioned my flatbed project to you before which Started life as a pass through Kamper cab and has that identical welded in patch.

I have a 70 highboy that my grandfather bought new. I’ve been wanting to restore it for years but the rust seams too overwhelming. I never new buying parts and building a bed was an option. Can you elaborate on where and how you get a new bed?

I'd vote for keeping the 78-79 power steering....makes them a lot nicer to drive. I did it in a '71 highboy I used to have.

I have never seen good aftermarket sheet metal to make the bed out of where would you get yours the stuff Icees from China and is junk compared to the original weight long live highboys

I was hoping he’d answer this question too. I have a 70 highboy that my grandfather bought new. I’ve been wanting to restore it for years but the rust seams too overwhelming. I never new buying parts and building a bed was an option.

@@broncobros2022 if possible check the strength of the steel before you buy it it may be way cheaper and flimsy I would put fluid film on your truck now even if you're going to restore it later just to stop the rust I love that stuff in other words don't let it get worse

Hey thanks for the offer! But I’m trying to not buy any trucks right now and finish the ones I have. I’m actually thinking about selling some off that I don’t have plans for. But again. Thanks for the offer!
