My definition of a holy grail: a product you could use every day for an extended period of time and not get bored with. Or, another definition is: if you ran out of the product, would you miss it in your collection? Most of the time those are products you've repurchased or used all the way up and maybe miss in your collection. I guess that's my barometer. Some holy grails of mine are the NXY glitter primer, Milk Makeup hydro grip foundation, UD All Nighter Setting Spray, and RMCA translucent powder. The rest have sadly been discontinued :( Love this idea, can't wait to hear what everyone's HG's are!

Great video! My holy grail product I’ve used for years is the L’Oréal Voluminous eyelash primer! I’ve tried many different types of eyelash primers, but this one is fantastic! I use it under my mascara every time I do my make up, and it doesn’t even matter what type of mascara I use. I am 67 with dry skin and wisdom lines. I think I’ve used this product since it came out many years ago.

For me a Holy grail can either be something that has stood the test of time as a firm favourite that I can go back to and still appreciate and enjoy years later, but also it might have a unique quality that another product doesn’t have, or it works super well with my skin/preferences to the extent that I haven’t been able to find anything to ‘top’ it. I consider Estée Lauder Double wear to be a Holy Grail for me, as, out of the foundations I have tried, I haven’t found anything (yet) that is self setting, without any powder, that’s as light weight and skin-like, that’s completely transfer-proof. For my current preferences, day to day I enjoy something like a tinted moisturiser or a cream foundation that I can just slap on without consequence. But I still do use Estée Lauder from time to time, especially if I don’t want my foundation to melt off of my face or transfer onto my collar. So some of mine Foundation - Estée Lauder Double-Wear (for reasons mentioned above) Tinted Moisturiser - Rimmel BB cream 9-in-1 (had a purple lid, I don’t think this exists anymore ) 😭😭I’ve tried a few others since then, including the Nars tinted moisturiser but I haven’t yet found one I like as much as that one Cream Foundation - Max Factor Miracle Touch Skin Foundation (you def have to set this one) or the more bougie Tom Ford Stick Foundation (now discontinued ) Another discontinued favourite was the Guerlain L’essential (the glowy one), which I’m still a bit bitter about TBH. Powder - Rimmel Stay Matte (pressed translucent setting powder) Laura Mercier loose setting powder (the original one - though I’ve not used this one in a couple of years, need to see if it still works well on my skin now I’m edging towards 40) Rimmel black Kohl eyeliner - is only about £2 and glides on the waterline and eyelid beautifully and stays there! In recent years, my holy grail eyeshadow formula is Natasha Denona, but prior to about 5 years ago I couldn’t afford high end eyeshadow and would just buy one single drugstore eye shadow in an inoffensive pinky-taupe or light brown satin, and I’d use the whole thing up before choosing another. Mascaras, I have a few I like and I just rotate between different ones depending on what’s on offer or what I got free with another purchase. I have recently enjoyed BadGalBang by Benefit and CT Pillow Talk mascara, but I don’t feel confident in calling either of these a whole grail yet, I have more to try! Concealers - again, over the years I just bought whatever was available in my local drug store, but in recent years my favourite of the few I’ve tried is the Pat McGrath concealer. Though, I do have a (currently unopened) Natasha Denona concealer that I have high hopes for! Lipsticks, I used to enjoy L’Oréal and Rimmel satin lipsticks (couldn’t afford £20+ on one lipstick), but now I do enjoy Charlotte Tilbury Kissing and Matte Revolution Lipsticks and Lisa Eldridge Velvet lipsticks and find these to be more superior in formula and pigment than my old drugstore favourites. Base/primer - for me, nothing prepares my skin better for makeup than the Charlotte Tilbury magic cream, especially in winter when my skin is dry, and if I’m wearing something like Double-wear, which I think you really need properly prepped skin to pull it off flawlessly. Sorry for the essay, got carried away!

One of my holy grails is the too faced better than sex mascara, nothing makes my lashes look so full! I do 1 coat Covergirl clump crusher underneath 1-2 coats of better than sex and it’s a total game changer… no flaking and no clumps! ❤ Another is MAC fix plus… I always apply my shimmer shadows with it, and overall I just have to have it to get rid of that powdery effect on a fresh face.

Thanks for this video. I think we forget sometimes the smallest things make the biggest impact on people around us. For me a "holy grail" product is one that purchase again and again. For me this is my NYX serum concealer and the Lash Paradise mascara. Before I run out I am repurchasing so I am not without it. And no matter how many other concealers or mascara's I try, I just keep going back to these time after time. My budget would probably love me more if I just realize this and quit buying mascara's and concealers to try lol.

I don’t have many holy grails bc I love trying new things but some of what I go back to and repurchase is the auric glow lust, the urban decay all nighter, the fenty eazedrop, abh clear brow gel, bareminerals blush, urban decay lipsticks, abh liquid lipsticks (like I don’t even like liquid lipstick but I repurchase for the color and adjust the formula with how I apply it), RIP bite lipsticks I should go to a lip lab lol but I think these are true holy grails bc most of these brands fell off or are not my favorite but I still love and go back to the products

I don’t have any makeup holy grails that I can think of off hand but I do have skin care and hair care and perfume ones! Especially for a fellow dry skin girlie. You should continue this video into other categories. That would be so fun! You probably already know, but if you’re acne prone you shouldn’t apply the applicator directly on your face because then you’re introducing the acne bacteria into the bottle which will then spread and multiply every time you apply again to the face. EDIT: I just thought of some. The Chanel vitalumiere aqua foundation. I’ve repurchased it 2x. And the urban decay lip bond vice liquid lipsticks. I bought several colors. I hate babysitting my makeup so I like any lipstick that stays literally all day without me worrying it’s moved. Not sure if lip balms count as makeup but juvias place lip oil, nars afterglow balm, too faced hangover balm and milani fruit fetish lip oil. For lip gloss I like buxom too and I’ve been enjoying an indie brand called Kikiz cosmetics. Also Fenty glosses and about face click gloss. To me a holy grail product is something you loved so much you recommend it to people over and over again forever. Do you have other recommendations for eyeshadow sticks? I want to get into them but the ones I’ve tried all look like nothing on the lid.
