Judgment of the crusader applies an effective +50 holy spellpower, and the improved talent increases it up to +59 for 3 points in ret tree.

Making a second post here as I liked the video and the gear/talent part so much. One thing tho, as SP you want to get as much Spirit as possible. Yes spellpower obviously helps but it won't matter how much dmg you can dish out from spellpower if you're oom. The crafted sp shoulders/belt are nice but lack spirit so for a shadow priest (and heal priest) focus more on spi, like the 3 blue cloth from SFK is better imho. Also try getting as much "of the Owl" as possible as it gives you int for bigger mana pool, crits and spirit. Like your leggings. Still a good video so 👍

I play shadow its all i play, just found your video, i learned something in SoD, for some reason the dmg from SWD hits the Power Word Shield, so if you have a shield up and use swd you dont take the dmg your shield does.

I forget the name of the paladin seal that when you judge it buffs Holy damage, your smites could be hitting even harder and your still poppin off. Depending on how the balance turns out with the runes; priests (especially Holy dps) might not be this powerful again until Mists of Pandaria comes out.

Seal of the crusader, when paladins use judgement it increases holy damage done to target by 15%. Paladins can also stack talents into imp seal of the crusader for even more holy dmg

I am curious if going meditation isn't staight up better than holy. The main issue seems to be mana, wouldn't the extra mana from mp5 and inner focus allowing you to cast smitws longer outweigh the faster casting time and holy crit chance? Especially since if you ever have to wand, disc has the talent for +25% wand damage as well.

I think at the beginning of Ph1 that may have been true, but these days, boss fights last seconds in some cases, getting off the most ammount of smites as you can is probably better.

One question Should I use Invoker's Mantle instead of Magician's Mantle? And should I use Invoker's Cord instead of Belt of Arugal?

Definitely depends on boss kill times and current issues. for example if you are able to kill a boss without mana being an issue the increased spellpower would be better. but if mana is an issue maybe take magicians mantle instead possibly belt as well. just depends on whether mana is a factor or not (depending on bosses/killtimes)

How can you use Homunculi with a warrior tank? I thought Homunculi make it impossible to tank as a warrior because they overwrite/block sunder armor usage.

Shadow word death can create issues. But I’m this video my group was using 2 healers for most fights. They’re aware I’m using this talent and most fights there’s so much overhealing that they healed me to help there healing parse :) definitely depends on your healers and making sure you make them aware of the rune you’re running!

Not understanding how people have enough mana for smite fillers. I always go OOM at like 60% boss health, even down ranking and mana potting. Must be blessing of wisdom? Like Horde definitely can’t do this. Alliance also get a +60 holy spell dmg buff from paladins. I think mind flay is probably the best filler for horde.

I know homunculi is amazing and all. But doesn't that fuck up warrior tanks since they need to sunder armor for dmg and threat. Any other tank I see that being fine. But I feel like the warrior can't get as much threat was because he can't use it. Just want to know your thoughts on this

The devastate rune allows sunder to be cast with homonculi, the damage creates additional threat on top of the threat it already does as an ability too. So you 100% always want to use homunculi whenever you have a priest with a prot warr

hey brother i mentioned rotation on just about every boss. Generally precast holy fire, cast shadow word death always on CD followed by a void plague and mind blast. from here you smite spam until mind blast or shadow word death come off CD. Consumes theres not much avail to spriest currently so just using MP5 food (smoked sagefish) and Blackfathom mana oil

Typical rotation: Precast Holy fire Shadow word death, homunculi, void plague mindblast then spam smite until shadow word death or mind blast are off of cooldown. Refresh void plague last second

Well i would like to agree but at most u do ok dmg taking in consideration that u have prebis lvl 40 staff( bis for now and bis for lvl 50/60 if we dont get anything better in raids) and u also got all possible buffs. Overall dps like 4-4.5/10 at most in regular runs

Plus all that running around /pray others for keeping up the buffs is tedious AF. 19+ year old game and even with all the Retail abilities/runes they added for Classic, they still did not adress SPs main issue, mana regen. Maybe they get VT for lvl 40 bracket? But atm it's a dize roll if it's even worth leveling one up on pure hopium that their main issue will be adressed. Giving them some slight dmg buff won't do Jack when you go oom fast anyway. All that did was making from E-tier from F-tier.

All they have to do is make a rune that allows consistent in combat procs of spirit tap and it would immediately solve mana issues. "Whenever a target afflicted by your shadowword pain dies your spirit tap talent activates". That way it would synergize with the shared pain rune for dotting up groups of trash and actually make you want to cast it over plague.

It's nice to see a priest dps, but definitely not worth bringing one to raid currently. Having to spam Death to do damage puts extra stress on healers without giving anything back to the party, unlike what will happen at 40.
