ABOUT ME
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hello there, welcome to this channel!
I am an Indonesian female solo traveler, who started solo traveling in 2013. After working for the government till 2016, I left Indonesia to pursue full-time traveling and to document myself as I explore different cultures as a solo female.
Having initially traveled for 5 months throughout Asia, I moved to China in January 2017 for an English teaching job, which was my first experience living abroad.
Since leaving China in 2018, I have taken the move to become a full-time KZbin creator and traveler. I strive to create unique, culture-driven content and capture authentic interactions as I travel.

Hi Syifa! I was very happy when I discovered your videos about Iran. I, myself was in Iran for six weeks. I attended a Farsi language course in Tehran and also travelled to Qom at a weekend! I also travelled to Mashhad, Kashan and Isfahan during my stay and had absolutely no problems at all. I travelled alone to Qom and Mashhad by bus and by train and enjoyed my trips a lot! My people wondered why I travelled to Iran first place and how it was as a female to travel alone. I had absolutely no issues at all and always felt very happy and safe. I am looking forward to see more of you videos about your Iran trip! It makes me miss Iran! Greetings from Switzerland!

Salaam, I have been to Qom, it is a magical city and I felt such joy and bliss when I was there, I fell in love with it. I'm sorry you couldn't experience it properly. I have to be honest that at first I was a bit offended when you described the customs for visiting the Holy Mosque in Qom as 'not right'. But I think I understand your reaction now because this is not just a normal Mosque and if you haven't been to Hajj you would not have experience of the customs of similar Holy places. Because Qom is considered Holy similar to the Mosques in Makkah or Medina. I think the problem was no one made you aware or prepared you beforehand and if your guide wasn't a woman, there was no one to explain everything and support you when you were there. Please don't take it personally. I hope you get to visit Makkah and Medinah for Hajj insha'Allah so you can feel the peace and tranquility of those Holy sites and feel the love and spirituality. Wassalaam

MashaAllah, great vlog Syifa! I am watching this while editing my next vlog, and was surprised that we're using the same song! What a coincidence. Didn't manage to see Qom during my trip to Iran, but it definitely looks majestic. I never ever felt the energy like the one you described in Qom so that scares me slightly, but thanks for embracing vulnerability and sharing your experience with us. We were helped a lot (and get paid for a lot) while we were in Iran too. Sometimes after eating in a restaurant, we would go up to the cashier only to be told that somebody paid for us already. And they definitely dont want anything in return, except for us to enjoy their country and have a good time. That to us, is the beauty of Iran. Absolutely love this country

I personally think that my editing skill is so basic and nothing compares to yours hahahaha. No, don't be scared, everyone will react differently to their own personal journey and especially I was travelling alone. I am experiencing something within myself too with regards to being a muslim so that's why it was affecting me emotionally. Agree, with all the beuaty of Iran! When traveling together with someone else, you don't put higher guard in terms of safety, whereas when traveling solo, it is different. It's just a natural instict with regards to self safety issue. I subsribed back to your channel. I have a lot to watch! Thanks Foogie.

@@truthseeker1934 just checked and you might be right. She said she stepped out/quit her religion, doesn't discount her not believing in God, perhaps she's dissatisfied with organized religion in general. You can live a spiritual/irreligious life while still believing in a higher power. But thank you for informing me, it may make more sense why she's distanced herself from Indonesia, abandoned Islamic practices, and adopted a relatively-western lifestyle. Her decision at the end of the day of course, I do appreciate you letting me know.

Qom obviously is a more conservative place. Not so surprising since it is a major religious city. Shite and Sunni Muslims may differ somewhat in what they place emphasis on in their differing interpretations. The mosque looks nice at night. Iranians love their sweet tea. I have tried Iranian tea here in Bolehland. It is a bit too sweet for me but otherwise I did like it. Take care and all the best for the rest of your stay in Iran.

Syifa, don't take it in a wrong way, when people offer to pay for something for you. It's part of the culture as you're their guest. You will find people to offer you their home, food, transportation and etc. Just go with the flow and learn the culture than fight it.

FRADA, I don't agree with you. Please refrain from accusations. Iran can be intimidating for foreigners (Heck, even Iranians who live outside get overwhelmed when they come to Ira) , especially in the Holly cites that are very restrict. And I have no doubt she is genuine & honest person.
@BenHayat
@BenHayat 6 жыл бұрын
Well, if she did go with "Pre Agenda", then that's her lost, because you can have a real good time in Iran. But let's not judge her and just consider she is overwhelmed by the culture shock. I think she meas well! Don't you Syifa? :-) LOL
@BenHayat
@BenHayat 6 жыл бұрын
Man, you interpret things WRONG and poor undrestanding!!! Culture shock means a culture than is "DIFFERENT" than what you're used. Don't put words in my mouth as if I said "Iranian culture is low class". A person with Eastern culture can go to West and face culture shock. It doesn't mean West culture is low class. I'm done with this conversation. I started answering you, because you made a post in my thread with wrong assumptions. Let's end it here.

If you want to show that you are very smart to figure out people's real intention, I recommend you at first improve your English. Because obviously you can not understand other people's comment, making misunderstanding and then based on that restart judging and blaming others...

I remember the women lecturer in Malaysia take iranian students to task for how they treated women/girl in their country Iran. Their respond is please go to Iran and see for oneself before believe everything in media news. I wish to visit Iran someday. Yes, the are very nice people just like any other country. Do try Meditation when over the holy place to feel the aural energy of that place. It can make one feel good. Look for good in other and you will find good within oneself.
