I'm also wondering if HS got the 48mp images “right”, that is, they will show more detail when viewed at 100% actual size than the standard 4K 8mp images. Because this is something that many drones with 48mp sensors don't get right, and their 48mp images look exactly like an 8K or 12mp image upsampled to 48mp! For example, the Autel Nano+ 50mp jpg's look like just a 12mp image resized to 50mp; the Fimi x8 Pro also has a 48mp mode that doesn't render more detail than a normal 12mp image. Only the DJI Mini 3 & 4 Pro and the Hubsan Zino Mini Pro are able to produce 48mp images that are actually more detailed than the normal 12mp or 4k. Seems that most drone makers have trouble rendering correctly the high resolution mode on those quad-bayer sensors, and NONE of the many KZbin drone reviewers mention this specific issue with the 48mp mode of all the drones out there that are coming up with those 1/2-in or 1/1.3-in Quad Bayer sensors!

This definitely has some good things going for it. Sub 250g, no need for registration, no geofencing, okay range. I didn't see any mention of the flight time on the Amazon ad which is a little weird because they do put it in other HS ads. Two batteries are a must for any drone. At $469 with two batteries and no geofencing with 4K, a traveler or hobbyist could have good fun with this flying camera. As long as HS stays on top of updates needed, they could be a valid contender in this segment. Drone wise, it looks like a mini 2 clone with possibly a better camera since it has never tech. At some point the market hits a kind of saturation point. Good thing young people grow up and want to try new things. For some people, good tracking ability is important. Autel never really got that. Maybe HS will.

A) It's cool that Holy Stone is doing sub 250 gram drones, for the Amazon crowd. B) I'm surprised to see you reviewing one, but curious enough to watch. C) Holy Stone models are generally 1 step up from toy class, but can be perfect starter drones to find out if you like flying. I had a... HS120D (mini Phantom-look drone with Tiltable Camera! -my 1st Drone and went to get a 720 E for $350-ish. Decided close enough to a real drone, and got a DJI Air 2. That was a life- changing purchase.

Any company that makes a 3-axis gimbal, 4k camera, GPS drone I will review! I've always stayed away from holy Stone because they never had 3-axis gimbal drones until now!

@@xavier_arthur Yessir. Them and Potensic are both in the game now. That Atom isn't horrible, but has the usual early development issues - Keeping Horizon level, getting Tracking to sto tracking stray grasshoppers and Seagulls! 🙄

I like my holy stone but this model looks really nice yeah the tracking has never been great 😌 but however I find it’s a great drone to practice flying

Holly stone its time for you to step it up this is a good drone but you need to put a touch screen controller with this drone an you a american made drone company i am a you tuber an a drone flyer have 5 of them so come on put that touch screen controller on here an you have DJI attention just a few tweaks you want be able to make the Drone fast enough
