Yes, we have an inheritance!! When you talked about your children this reminded me of mine. I remember my son wanted to walk ahead of us when we were out, now he hugs me in the middle of the mall🤣 My children won’t make a move without consulting me. As Catholics, this is the "family" relationship we have. God, the Father, giving us His commandments (rules/laws) to follow because He loves us and we, His children, obey because we love Him. The Eucharist, His body and blood, given to us because He loves us and our receiving Him worthily because we love Him. That's the BEST relationship to have with Jesus.

Here is Christ's question, Mathew 15: 3: "But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?" Malachi 2: 1-4: "And now, O ye priests, this commandment is for you. If ye will not hear, and if ye will not lay it to heart, to give glory unto my name, saith the LORD of hosts, I will even send a curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings: yea, I have cursed them already, because ye do not lay it to heart. Behold, I will corrupt your seed, and spread dung upon your faces, even the dung of your solemn feasts; and one shall take you away with it. And ye shall know that I have sent this commandment unto you, that my covenant might be with Levi, saith the LORD of hosts." A women say "the Husband has no name". "HalleluJah" means "Praze Jah" (Jehovah). Psalm 83: 18: "That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth." The problem is Devil runs the world. He is lier and murderer. This is the reason why liers feel so good while righteous people are persecuted. That's why we've got the Gospel about the God's kingdom. Jehovah would put everything in order. He has anointed the king, Jesus Christ. The dead will be resurected and we'll meet our beloved ones again! :-)

PREACH! I have been following the RC for a good handful of months at this point (coinciding with my reversion, really conversion as I don't think I ever really bought in). I have made praying the rosary with team replay a part of my daily "absolutely must do" routines. Truth be told I have been sleeping on unpacking the mass. I have been following UPTM for a number of weeks and it has been added to the weekly "must do" list. This is my absolute favorite Unpack to date! I said before how much you and your ministry has meant to my reversion/conversion and just want to emphasize what it continues to mean. These have really changed how I digest the mass each week. It is so different once your eyes are opened and you view it through the lens of faith. You might be a Midwesterner but you definitely have a Philly attitude and I love it! God bless you and your family. Please pray for the reversion of the rest of my family. I want them to experience the absolute joy and peace I have discovered and cherish. TY

I'm at the 33min mark & I am soooo playing this on the kitchen counter while my kids eat breakfast today. They have witnessed adults doing such while they are helping the clergy prepare or close up at church. My heart hurt when my youngest son said he has heard multiple parishioners multiple times calling priests fat when it's all the vestments they are wearing. How many layers are those guys wearing for mass? 5 layers probably? I'd be baking like a pig up there. I'm glad I don't know who said it because the verbal skills my New Jersey mother bestowed upon me (insert sarcasm) would definitely come out. I cannot believe how much criticism lay people cast upon clergy when clergy do so much.

Protestant response. Keith you made it all the way to the 35 minute point before you decided to take a swipe at your Protestant friends by telling them that they are for all intent and purposes second class Christians and that they are lacking as Christians. Sorry my friend but participation in the Roman Eucharist is not the Gospel. Respectfully, I lack nothing in Christ, I possess the fullness of faith and am fully united to Christ and his church. For you to suggest otherwise is divisive and sectarian. I want to end on a positive note though. Everything else about this presentation was spot on.

Read what St Ignatius of Antioch (110 AD) has to say about the Eucharist being the true body and blood of Jesus (not symbolic) and those who abstain from it. He was taught by John the Apostle so he is a reliable source. Jesus said unless you eat the flesh and drink the blood of the Son of Man you have no life within you. The Eucharist is a terrible thing to lack.

@@rsmith5244 I have read it. I believe Christ is truly present when I celebrate the Lord’s Supper. I just don’t use transubstantiation to explain how that happens. I do not believe that Ignatius defined real presence using transubstantiation. Transubstantiation as a way to explain the real presence did not yet exist in Ignatius’ life time. Ignatius’ understanding of the real presence may have been closer to the Lutheran view. The three major branches of historic Protestantism (Anglican, Lutheran, Reformed) all teach some form of real presence. All believe that we feed upon Christ in the Eucharist. None use transubstantiation to explain how that happens.

@@paulsmallwood1484 Being a disciple of John the Apostle Ignatius of Antioch would have had the true understanding of the real presence, just as Jesus Himself taught. Jesus let those who didn't believe what He said about the Eucharist truly being His body and blood, real flesh and blood, walk away. I would take the word of Jesus then, if that of the beloved disciple is still not worthy of belief. It would take time to give transubstantiation a name so I wouldn't be hung up on that. I don't have to understand how the bread and wine is changed into Jesus' body and blood, I just believe what Jesus said.
