I cannot blame you at all for 4*. For Dana D., I will risk a 5* for her finesse, strength, and calm determination. A playing composed of lightness, silence, softness, cheerfulness, and surprising firmness. A scarce and incredible talent, not enough seen. In fact, in this movie - thanks u, I did not know it from Brian - we have two great underrated actors: Dana Delany (The Right Temptation, 2000, w/Rebecca de Mornay, another underrated excellent actor) and Brian Dennehy. Many thanks!

I am from Russia. I never miss a Bryan Dennehy movie. When I first saw Brian Dennehy, I was sure he was nobody other than one Oleg Sergachov, my college mate in 80-s. The more I watched Dennehy movies, the more I got convinced he was my friend Oleg, Oleg and only Oleg! Ir was some kind of obsession, two men could not be so 100% alike. Nobody knew what happened to Oleg, so I decided he moved to America and made the actor career there... One objection only to my theory- Oleg was utterly unable to speak English. He must be 64 now.

I agree with much of what you pointed out and opined about this movie and the he key actors. A very taut, emotional, edgy script and the policing and justice problems our Nation continues to face just about everywhere, unfortunately. So much corruption within these systems. Sharp and dependable acting by Dana Delaney and Keith Carradine; and Brian Dennehy was a complete, believable character in this movie, though he didn’t have much screen time. His position in Internal Affairs truly set the tone for this movie. RIP BRIAN. D. 👍🥰

Good call HC ! Thanks for this one. Yeah it's a made for tv b flick so i think we don't expect too much still it was good. I agree on everything you said about Brian Dennehy but i wish he made some more appearances. Keith Carradine did much better than i had anticipated. I haven't seen many movies with him. He was good in Southern Comfort with Powers Boothe i believe.

I can't see how Brian Dennehy is underrated. He had a highly respected, diverse and very successful career on stage and screen. He won two Tony Awards, an Olivier Award and a Golden Globe, and received six Primetime Emmy Award nominations. He was never out of work and made a lot of money. Just because an actor isn't a permanent A-lister, a multiple Oscar winner and an instantly recognisable household name all over the world does not mean he's underrated.

I''ve always been a fan of Brian Denehy, I will watch anything with Brian Denehy in it. Same with Dana Delany, I first saw her in China Beach. I found out she's been kept busy with movies for a number of years now. I will need to do a search on her movies and have a bing weekend at some stage. This movie was controversial back in 1999 but not so much today with mixed marriages becoming more the norm. It's the kids from mixed marriages are the ones left in the soggy middle with people still attempting to be fashionably accepting while in publish but going nuts behind closed doors. Just as mixed marriages today are finding it tough to blend in. The closest I ever became was in 1971, white woman engaged to a South African man but with a twist that got a rise out of people everytime. My man was called up after a deferred conscription call-up, that was delayed due to being his Trade Apprenticeship. Even then his study was at an accelerated pace, so by the time he had to report for duty, he had his Trade Qualification so he had the choice of a home Base or going off to war, being older and wiser at 23. He'd finished boot camp training and was posted by the time we got married. The real gotcha was after telling family and friends he was born in South Africa and as the smirks were making their way to the surface, they found out that he was born to Scottish parents, shortly after arriving in Johannesburg, I use to like winding people up who hadn't met him. Considering I was a natural blonde I guess it was easy for people to start judging me on how I could marry a Sth African. So it's easy for me to reflect on the difficulties of mix marriages as far back as the early 70s. It became relevant when applying for the usual official side of married life necessities by myself, if people heard where he was born. Frankly though there are so many mixed marriages even today doesn't mean couples still aren't faced with Racial issue, when there should be no issues in the second decade of the 21st century. As a society, we have far too many issues than we should have regarding mixed marriages and the consequences that kids can still face in schools today.

1:24:00. All the time I was hoping to see the hidden wire. There is so much to say about this movie. Exagerations don't honor the truth, but when hard things - difficult to believe - reach our ear, we tend to call them that, either because of the exagerations before or after similar accounts. I've seen many movies with B. D. and I think that he was actually a good actor, but more than that, his acting value lies in the transcendance of the topics he choose to interpret. Painful as it is, how can we understand certain issues, if nobody dares to get into them? Still, we all need to understand that only those who have been personaly affected will be grateful for the insight. I'd like to add that we normaly have too many feelings (Vincent's family, here), and offenders have none or too few. The awakening of feelings, here, on behalf of the victim add a genuine touch if life to the movie. The view on the inside and outside will always be very, very different. To feel is a must to get to the truth. Thanks.

This was a excellent film, however as much as I respect Brian Dennehy, and I have seen some other films where he is awesome, however in this film I must say, that Dana Delany was the shining star and Brian played a small part and to be honest wasn't really impressed with his performance in this picture film, however I think if he had switched roles with one of the other actors, perhaps one of the foot soldier street cops he might have had a chance to express his acting abilities in a much better way. I don't usually rate shows but this was a powerful film nontheless. RIP, Mr.Dennehy. I am now curious about Dana Delany and would like to see more of her b/c I haven't, unless she is one of these one film wonders and won't be able to find her in other films. Thank you!
