HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!
This is an homage to Creepshow's episode, "The House of the Head". The episode segment was written by Josh Malerman (author of Bird Box) and directed by John Harrison. I was so intrigued by the haunted dollhouse that I made a model of "The Head", and used my two dollhouses as the background for my homage. Featured are a 1947 Keystone of Boston wood dollhouse furnished primarily with 1930s Strombecker wood furniture and 1964 Ideal Petite Princess furniture collection; and a modern wood dollhouse built from an IKEA dollhouse shelf and painted to resemble John Axe's yellow and red Effanbee Wee Patsy paper doll house from his 1995 paper doll book. The IKEA dollhouse is furnished in a hodge podge of 1930-1950s dollhouse furniture, in addition to whatever else I pick up at antique stores and flea markets. When "The Head" is not in residence, the houses are populated by 1935 Effanbee Fairy Princess/Wee Patsys and a couple of assorted antique dollhouse dolls.
