Can the action conditions distinguish which CarPlay your phone is attached to? Assuming both of my cars have different identifiers, then it could help determine which garage door to open with a single Open Garage action. It'd be kind of like which BT or WiFi you're connected to, which may also be another path to determine which car I'm in.

At time of recording, sadly not. 5:20. I haven't checked since though to see if it's been added! I think it would be a good addition and feels like something they could do, as you say with something like the BT it's connected to if wirelessly connected.

I am considering it. I need explore it's capabilities first to see if its worth a video. The functionality has been out a lot longer than the Apple one, so hopefully it is good and then I will.

Do you mena you want to add data from your car to Home assistant generally? Depending on your make of car there are some 3rd party integrations to pull data from your car into Home Assistant. Something I would like to see is the ability to show sensors FROM Home Assistant in Apple CarPlay. Hopefully they will add this. You could then show all sorts of data on your dashboard in your car.

@@lets-automate what I actually want to do is a couple steps further :) I want to use esphome to create a bunch of sensors for my old 1999 motorcycle, add apple CarPlay to the dashboard and output the these sensors from esphome back onto my motorcycles dashboard via CarPlay. Basically I want CarAssistant :) Or MotorcycleAssistant or whatever you'd call it, to bring my old bike up to modern standards. Thanks for sharing the video @lets-automate!

Nice, that would be a fun project. The tricky bit will be being able to get the ESPHome device to communicate with your Home Assistant server. I am actually working on a video which MIGHT give you some ideas.

Open garage from car. Prepare house to be heated when driving home for your arrival. Make sure lights are turned off after leaving home in your car. Hope there’s camera support too.
