this is what i need too do, but i want too use a 4x axis joystick (wii numchuck) to activate 4x relays, for 4 directions. or ie: UP -DOWN -LEFT-RIGHT. I know how too wire the relays, but not were too put the wires on Arduino NANO, or the, numchuck/4 axis joystick.. And need help for the code.

@@robojax I'm building a vapour blast cabinet to clean motorcycle parts I have 3 micro switch foot pedals to bring on; water, air and wind screen wiper I had to hold my foot on the pedal all the time to keep the air on. Now I can press once air come on press again air goes off I am trying to add a on, off delay into the wiper circuit so that when I press the wiper foot pedal the wiper will cycle e.g. on 5 sec off 5 sec then when I press the pedal again it stops Finding this to be a challenge

Hi, yes possible. You would have to define a pin for the micro switch as output. Then turn it OFF when switch is connected. here I have videos explaining the push button with relay. You can use your micro switch instead kzbin.infosearch?query=push

I had tried the same with the nodemcu -12E . But during the bootup process there will be a short burst of high pulse on all the pins, thus triggering all the relays for a fraction of a sec. SO is there anyway to prevent during the reboot process ? I read on the internet someone stating the using a Attiny85 to buffer 1 sec during the startup will prevent the false trigger. Is that really possible ?

Hope this doesn't sound crazy but what in this code could be changed if you want 2 outputs turned on with a single switch. So if you have pushButton 2 pushed and you want relayPin 10, 8 HIGH how would that be changed in this code?

I explaine ever line of code. if you wanched the video, then you would know it. simply at the line where it turns ON a relay, just add one more line for 2nd or 3rd relay. the same way when it turns OFF and also take dare of any variable that is changed when the button is pressed. just watch it one, twice or 10 times until you get what it does. This is what I do to learn.

I have managed to get 4 push buttons switches to work independently by cascading 2k resistors along with the switches and that then alters the analog read value depending on the button pushed - the issue I have is more to do with the way in which trey are toggled - I give up on that one today but will look forward to your next video and see how this one can be achieved. Thanks again for making such great videos with such in-depth explanations that enable us to achieve our goals in the Arduino of things. I love my Arduinos and never know what to build next. Im looking for some help I am looking to control a motor with Arduino and a relay card, Im wanting to use a power window switch and move the motor up for a 4 seconds when the switch is tapped up, and down 4 seconds when the switch is tapped down. I tried to use your code and wiring to control the relays with 2 simple switches first, but cant get the switches to turn the relays on and off. If i change the High or Low in the Loop after else it turns them on or off, but seems the inputs are not working. Any help would be greatly appreciated

it was nice to watch this video as it is somewhat similar I wanted. I am controlling an 8 channel relay and I am having only five momentary switches. I want to control three relays at a time. I want to activate and keep on three (say 135) relays when I push a button, whilst other relays low. I also need a reset button by which all the relays should go low. What would be the best solution in order to press this button using an actuator? I imagine this actuator would short circuit the controller button. Hi Mr. Robojax! Thank you for your wonderful reviews, these have helped me to finally get started with programming and control using Arduino. But one thing I do not get control of is that when I use the switch to control the relay, the relay does not react until I have released the switch. This means that if I want a switch to change the direction of a DC motor, it does not happen because the relay does not react when the switch is activated. What do I miss or simply do not understand? I have seen the videos and lessons about controlling DC motors that you refer to and they are really good and I make it work as you show and teach in them. But as you connect and program, nothing happens to the relay when you press your button, the relay reacts when you release the button and it works if I have to handle it manually. But my project is for a slip disc to travel from right to left and back to the right with the help of 2 switches in the end positions that will affect the relays that you show in your video lesson no: 52. My thought is that Video 52 is perfect for my project if I add 2 switches to change the direction of rotation. If I connect and program a switch and diode, the diode reacts as soon as I press the button, but if I connect a relay, it does NOT react when I press the button, the relay reacts when the button is released. Hi, Yes doable. so you don't 2 push buttons for each relay. ONE to turn OFF and one to turn ON? It seems you don't need 4 channel, may be just 1 channel relay with 2 push button. It need a little code change which at the moments I have no time for. but if you watch the video again you should be able to understand and do it.

Hi, If you watch the video, I have explained every line and what they do. Watch it multiple time, take note and you will understand. So to disable push buttons for example push buttons 2, 3,4 while 1 is pressed, because when you push the button, it takes the input low, you will make 2, 3 and 4 always HIGH.

Hi, I spent so much time to write this code because this is the most logical way to use it .I know people have different project but it needs total rewriting of the code. I am glad you found it interesting. For delay, watch this video to learn how to delay. Adding more buttons would need a little work which can't be just typing. It should be tested. I might get time to do it in the future.

@@robojax that would be great...i played around with the code...so i already got some changes, like delay....but it words both ways.....the delays is when its activated, and when its shut down....i just woul like to delay the shutdown, and an extra relay that is triggerd by triggerering 1, 2 , 3 or 4 indipendent....thats the relay that would power my shop vacuum......the 4 ports there already are, power um my machines...and the push butten wil give power to my machines....instead of a lamp ;) so i hope what i meen....and i hope you can help me with that code :D

I am confused about the code. I understand the light will be ON if the val is HIGH and relaystatus will be HIGH. But what will happen if the val is LOW. How will the light stay ON if the val is LOW? You should add a line about val being LOW and relaystatus being HIGH, after that the relaystatus will become LOW and the upper if loop will start again with making the pushed 0, thus making the light OFF.

Ive gotten it to work but only in reverse (when i connect the relay as ON and use the switch to trigger it off) I cant get it to trigger ON :(

Connect your load to different pins. In video is showed connection to COMMON and NO, (NO=normally open) you connect it to COMMON and NC, (NC=Normally closed). Watch the video again when I explained the module and then watch the wiring.

initial value is what you want. You can set anything you like. For explanation you have to watch the video. I can't explain it better than what is in the video.

yes. they are independent. I have set some delay in the loop, so if you keep it longer, it will turn on and but keeping it very long will turn it off. I have not tested but this how I understand it.
