WOW!! I was only "very" impressed until she got to the big part and shook her head before "Change every lock and key." that blew me away! Fabulous performance!

This is so beautiful, your voice is not at all forced, and so beautiful-your diction is amazing-I struggle with diction due to a hearing loss, but I sing, and this is stunning :D xxx Belle does NOT need to be a Belter.

you sing this so sweetly and it reflects upon belle's character much better than the other girls who tend to belt this song. well done!!

I see your point. However, at the beginning of the song Belle is more afraid than frustrated. She doesn't know what's in store for her and the Beast is scary enough to be held captive by. She is very vulnerable at the beginning of the song as heard in the dynamic of the instrumental giving a sweet interpretation good sense. After the bridge she begins to have frustration and the crescendo of the instrumental shows her buildup of emotions to stick up for herself. That is where the belt should go.

Some parts do need belting like the "build higher walls around me" but she is the person I have heard sing this even Suzan Egan didn't do that well.

From 1:55-2:05 it should be "But I know that I can't solve my problems going back"

Lovely rendition. I also like that she restrains herself on "home should be where the heart is". Rachel Beck kind of overdoes the delivery of that line in the Australian cast recording.

I loved her 'A Change in Me' but her diction is weird in this. She sounds like she was more of a choral diction than a solo and a musical theatre solo at that. Other than that I liked her acting choices. Not too much. Not too little. Flowed nicely.

@joicki What???!!!!! Your'e Belle??? If its really you,then hi! Your'e really good!!!
@NickiReedx312 жыл бұрын
i completely disagree. Belle is spunky while sweet. She can be pretty snooty (within good reason.) In the original movie when Gaston asked her to marry him she wasn't like a complete angel while rejecting him, and when she left her house to sing of her annoyance she wasn't just some sweet girl. I like the belting. Anyone who gets locked up for no good reason would show their frustration and that was what the purpose for belting was in this song.

Good performance, Josephine! But to tell the truth, and no offence, that make-up drove me to mistaken you as an Asian. Still love the hair style.
