Heavier hammers will help it work better, especially welding some ends onto the hammers. When doing the ewaste try to collect it all in a heap of small parts in a large jar and use some pool acid to strip the copper out, and if you can then strip the gold out. 10g or so per ton, might even make it a good mining process, but the CIP leaching would be an issue though. Another tip, add a small AC relay to the mains input, and use it to switch a low value resistor, like an old kettle element, across the motor DC terminals when power is removed, to act as a DC brake on the motor. Makes it stop a lot faster.

Thanks for the tips, yeah I do need to put some more weight on those hammers, and also deal with the balancing issue. The DC brake to force stop the motor is definitley something I am considering right now
