Working my way through this. Didn't realize he worked with Roskam so much. Whole world of movies in Europe that we just don't know about. Blocked by language issues (subtitling), cultural issues, history, way of life so different from America. But they are heavily influenced by US movies, TV. Speaking English necessity to break into American movies. Doing American accents, etc.

European movie makers deal with topics that are so obscure to us in North America. Bullhead is a perfect example. When I read what it is about I was like WTF. But Matthias got great reviews for his performance. These movies are more accessible through netflix, amazon, etc movie services provided they aren't too old.

Matthias friens , tha Director and the VP should look more to movies in English, in America. Matthias can;t do everything. He's so loyal to his friends and rightly so. Loved the Danish girl.

i think he had lost his mom around this time, i believe she passed in 2017. He looks sad here. Honestly since his breakup in 2015 and then mom died in 2017, he does not seem happy. I think his life is spinning out of control from the depression and heartbreak. But he seems like a really guarded person who doesn't like to deal with these things. Hope he goes to therapy and allows himself to grieve properly.

Recently saw Racer and the Jailbird (terrible English title btw). Didn't think role right for Matthias. She seems too young as well. Story doesn't hold up well. One of his misses for me.
