i watch plenty of diys but these are seems to be practically possible ones. but still i have one thing in mind that , whenever i get that feel of getting something refurbished, the budget comes out to be almost near to the one we can buy new. so it would be really helpful if you could share the money involved in getting all these things done.

No not always, like I recently refurbished a furniture which was made up of solid wood..costed total 3k including its cost and diy items..I am using it as a tv unit..in Market any solid wood tv unit will cost you more than 10 k
