I studied old world paint finishes back in the 80s so it's the 80s coming back again with a European flair. Being of European descent I have always loved the European cottage garden room look, so everything old is new again.
@VintageBeeDesign Жыл бұрын
I think you’ve nailed the trend perfectly! It will be a more Euro cottage vibe than Miami Vice. The furniture lines, in the very high end areas, are very 80’s reminiscent though!

I love the tall candle holders and the finials. The mossy stuff is fab and the wicker curly mirror is lush. Also my very favourite the embroidered sofa. 💖

Thanks for the feedback! That sofa! It really is dreamy!

Since I rarely get out to shop it was nice to do a little tour of these decor shops, but I was really wondering about the prices??? Wish you had added that to your content.

This was market, and all the prices are wholesale. They prefer we not share that information.

Oh,my heart stopped. Those old world finishes are my favorite. I noticed bunnies are everywhere and birds are still a thing. I love the pops of muted colors against neutrals. So much stone and rust yummies. I hope you have videos whirling around in your head to show us how you plan to recreate this look.

I do! Julie Borne and I were discussing all the ways we could do DIY with these styles.

My favorite item was the bunny!!! So adorable! I've never been "trend follower." I find things I like which tend to be antique, farmhouse, bed & breakfast style. Very eclectic. I want my home to have things in it that are very comfortable and no one else has. I'm very much the hold a pillow or old quilt because it feels soft and tells a story kind of person. Looking forward to the next video. Loving the hair color Melissa! Hi to Sue & Julie!!! 💕

I adored the cement with the mossy look, with a bit of that coral color showing through! Oh my goodness so beautiful! And those tall, floor candle holders! Wow! I love wicker and rattan, and earthy elements. I'm really liking the patinas, too. This vid was so exciting to me. Thank you so much for showing us! I can't wait to see tomorrow's vid!!!

These trends are definitely more my style. I noticed a lot more animals too. I've never been into farmhouse distressed. I joke often that distressing makes me distressed. However, the old world type of chippy makes me very happy.
@VintageBeeDesign Жыл бұрын
I would think milk paint will start to trend more because it makes it easier to achieve that old world finish with less work.
@trishmcgilton6387 Жыл бұрын
@@VintageBeeDesign I think you are correct. Farmhouse distressing seems planned, like straight lines, along edges, where the artist decides the placement of paint. I think the milk paint look is a more natural, normal aged effect. It just distresses where it wants to. I just wish milk paint wasn't so... Liquidy.... I'm not a huge messy paint fan. Ha!
@VintageBeeDesign Жыл бұрын
Ah. I actually love milk paint because it does it’s own thing. It’s like waiting for a present. Did you know you can just add more powder if you want it thicker?
@trishmcgilton6387 Жыл бұрын
@@VintageBeeDesign will it react with the same crackle finish if I thicken it?
@VintageBeeDesign Жыл бұрын
@@trishmcgilton6387 Actually the thicker the layer, the more cracking you are likely to get.
