Came back to say I just completed this mod and it couldn't have been any easier. Will be doing the werewolf and the upgraded sensors from your other videos before I put them away this year. Thank you so much!

Could this also be done on the Werewolf with the wires run up from outside the control box?
@brycem84452 жыл бұрын
Edit: Actually... after rewatching my video of the werewolf, I don't think this connector would even plug into the connector to the werewolf's eyes. I could be wrong, but I think I remember it having more than 2 wires. Perhaps more wires to the led's in his mouth or something. I will have to go check again when I get a few minutes, but I do not think these connectors will do it on the werewolf. So please ignore my previous statements for now.

Great video, I recently purchased one and put it together and when I plugged it in I got no power at all. The power adapter and outlet it is plugged into works forsure, just not getting any power to the control box. Any ideas what the issue could be?
@brycem8445 Жыл бұрын
If you’re sure you’re getting the correct voltage out of the power supply, it’s got to be a bad connector or cable somewhere up to the control box. Have you probed the voltage at the connector that plugs into the control box?

Great idea! Will this setup work with the werewolf?
@brycem8445 Жыл бұрын
Unfortunately no - at least that I could see. His is more difficult and required cutting two wires and soldering. I did a video on how to do it last year if you’d like to watch and do the mod.

This is great! But I’m wondering if there is a way to have her come on to the “on” position whenever powered up (I use smart plugs/timers) so you can get both the eyes and the led in her hands.
@brycem84452 жыл бұрын
That is a good question and requires some analysis of the circuit card to figure out which I have not done to that level. I may try adding in the LEDs when I get a chance to work on that, but this is my timer solution for now: kzbin.info/www/bejne/f3uwq4qQqdt6hqs

For an easy fix I used a cable tie to hold the button down when my timers activate.

@@nicksolimini9393 if you are on the Halloween forum I posted a picture of how I did the phantom, werewolf, and witch. It doesn’t work for the skeleton though, or at least it doesn’t work when the power supply is being used. I haven’t tried it using battery power.

@brycem84452 жыл бұрын
I might play with that tonight. I need to do a little more probing, but don't think I want to mess with her circuit card to keep them on, at least not at first. I'll get back to you on this!

@@brycem8445mine is up right now, but aren’t the hand lights on another pigtail barrel tube. I wonder if you could make another T with the same pigtails as the eyes.
@brycem84452 жыл бұрын
@@mcb0b1 I thought the led's were on a little ribbon cable. I worry that just connecting them to 6V power will burn them up since there may not be anything to limit the current.
@redscot682 жыл бұрын
I used "waterproof" butt splices on mine. I put 2 conductors in 1 end, and 1 in the other, used my soldering iron to heat the heat shrink, and then, to be Double Redundant, I wrapped each connection with electrical tape... Can you say "OVERKILL"?!? LOL 😆
@brycem84452 жыл бұрын
Nice! You should be good to go.
@newjacksonswing2 жыл бұрын
I’m no electrician but I’ll post the idea anyway, couldn’t you add another dc pigtale then use a dc to led connector for the lights? I doubt it’ll actually be that simple but maybe it’s a good place to start from 😂
@brycem84452 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately, I don't think it would be that EZ. I did look at the LEDs on her hand a little and noticed the green/black wires appear to go to the purple LEDs and the red/blue go to the green LEDs. If I were to try connecting the 6V, I would install a series resistor to limit the current to keep the LEDs from burning up, but I haven't got to that yet.

Has anyone done this and have her mouth quit working/moving?
@brycem84452 жыл бұрын
Uh-oh, did it stop working the moment after you did this mod or did it work for a while after and then stop? Check that the black barrel connectors in that area(same area where you added the eye cable) are still plugged into each other and that both of the 4-wire ribbon connectors are still connected. I believe the black connectors are one of the head motors and one of the ribbon cables is the other motor-maybe the mouth. The other ribbon cable is the LEDs on the hand.
@JMAN117172 жыл бұрын
I’m pretty sure it quit working after I connected the cables. However, I can hear the motor and if you manually open her mouth, it’ll move a few times, but doesn’t start up when the next sequence starts. I am going to re do the cable mod and check the ribbons. One thing that crossed my mind is I wonder when I disconnected the red cable coming down from her head, if that cable somehow got in the way of the mechanism. Thanks for the reply and I’ll update. Oh, do your barrel connections on the mod meet completely when you you plug them in. Mine seem to have a small gap
@brycem84452 жыл бұрын
@@JMAN11717 Sounds like a mechanical issue - I think you're on the right track looking for an interference. Also, is it standing upright? Seems like my werewolf went off when it was leaning over while working on it and the mouth wouldn't move because it needed gravity. Yes, my barrel connectors have a small gap. It's just how they were built unfortunately. I probably should have gotten different ones with a better seal.
