Hey Jenna! I do not know if you will see this but, I live in the city of Chicago for 19 years now. I HIGHLY recommend wearing fleece tights under your jeans/skirts/leggings. Also, wear a long sleeve shirt (thin) under all sweaters. I always find myself taking off layers & adding layers throughout the day/night. Right now, it's actually beautiful in the city - I wore my NorthFace vest today - nice. BUT the fleece tights are a God send. Have a great time.

Seems like you had good luck getting home! I flew home on sunday back to PA as well but it was kind of a mess. I was supposed to fly to Philadelphia and they delayed my flight by 5 hours so I would miss my connection to my hometown. So instead I got a on a flight to Newark where my family picked me up and we had to drive 3hrs back to PA to get home. My luggage did not make it to NJ with me, but it did go on the flight to Philly and then on the flight to my hometown so I had to go pick it up at the airport the next day! Anyway, hope your time at home is fun!
