"A wild Avi!" That is hilarious to me. Yes that was Avi. The story goes that this was done around the time of Ring of Fire, and Avi was available and suprise cameo! Avi's even on the mechanical bull in the background too if you pay attention. This video is really funny and they all just seem like they would be so much fun to hang around with. Just to clarify - the "wife" is played by Amanda Day - an actress from St. Paul, Minnesota - not Austin's ex-girlfriend or current girlfriend. Wanna give credit where credit is due. 🙂 As for the song - a Tim original. He wrote this when he had just consumed a lot of whiskey (back in the day when he drank). “A wild Avi!” 😂 That was such a great line! They did this at the same time they did Ring of Fire, so Avi was there and decided to do a cameo. Loved Tim’s reaction after Avi went through…. Glances over with a “who was that?” look on his face, then a grin and a shrug as he starts singing again. If you watch closely, Avi shows up in the background again, on the mechanical bull … barefoot, as well it looks like. I know I’m late to the party (my iPad flaked out), but I’m so glad you finally got to this one! Winter Song is another amazing song that you’ll definitely want to listen to. One Man Band and Castle on the Hill are also amazing. To stay on the Christmas theme, and to keep with the funny, try Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer, Cold Hard Cash and Full of Cheer. One of their most well known songs is Ring of Fire. The official music video features Avi Kaplan (they filmed it the same time as this video so Avi popped in), there's the version they do on The Sing Off, and of course there are numerous videos of them doing it live because they have frequently used it as their encore, at least they did at the concert I went to. Let me tell you, the last note shook the room! One thing I hear from a lot of reactors that watch Home Free is that they would love to hang out with them and talk, which to me says a lot about their character. I got to chat with them for a bit at the concert and they really are just nice, regular guys.

Tim wrote this song when he was told that he would not get a paycheck if he didn't write a country song like this person believed he should be doing. he went home, got drunk, and wrote this song. Years later he actually recorded it and made the video with his friends and "band" mates Home Free. I love that their friend Avi made a surprise appearance...so cool. I love this song!!! By the way, if you watch the video again, look at the mechanical bull at the end. Avi is posing on it. Sooooo funny.

They’re so much fun! Tim wrote this one. He was a songwriter for his boss in LA a long time ago and the boss wanted Tim to write a country song. Tim said no and it went back and forth. Tim got drunk and wrote this in one night. It’s a big hit for him. I love the lyrics…you won’t see her pretty face at all since the prison’s no where near the mall. Hahaha. He’s a good songwriter, he just didn’t want to write country at that time. They really are good guys and have a good sense of humor.

They do inspire a loyal following, not just because of their outstanding talent but more so because of their positive, down to earth personalities. They do seem like guys you could enjoy just being around and hanging out with. This was written by Tim. They filmed this right after the did the Johnny Cash tune Ring of Fire featuring Avi Kaplan, so Avi did a cameo for this. HF did another Johnny Cash song, Folsom Prison Blues. They did make it very bluesy.

This is so funny and bouncy. There's a video somewhere in which Tim talks about how he came to write it. Wish I could remember where. It might be in one of the History of Home Free videos on Chris' channel. That bar is about 15 minutes from my house. If only I'd known. There's also a mechanical bull in their video of Between a Rock and a Heartache - and one of them is actually riding it. You'll have to watch the video to learn who. The story behind this song is hilarious: Something like a decade ago Tim's employer told him to write a country song but he didn't want to. So he came up with the "worst" (his words) country song he could think of--and to this day it is one of his most popular originals 😆

Tim Foust wrote this and it was on his solo album, The Best That I Could Do before he joined Home Free. Several of those songs on that album were reincarnated with Home Free including Everything Will Be Okay and Champagne Taste. Their Christmas song, Full of Cheer also written by Tim is considered a sequel to this.
