This is so beautiful. When I was a child, my dad was the music director of our church. One year the choir sang O Holy Night. During choir practice I would lay down on the front pew and fall asleep to it. Such a beautiful childhood memory!

Can you please caption the portion of the songs as well for the deaf and hard of hearing? And please ask Home Free to please make sure their videos are captioned. The few that are, I love watching them and imaging the music even though I cannot hear. But it's very frustrating when they release new ones and there are no captions. I enjoy reading their lips while they sing but it's nicer to have captions to confirm I'm "listening" correctly. This video, your speech is captioned, but while listening to the music, it's not. Very frustrating!

Chris, the first ever Home Free song I heard was Angels We Have Heard on High, which at that time was my favourite Christmas song. The second was this one. A couple of years in and this became my favourite Christmas song. At any rate both are my favourite Home Free songs. I watch them on KZbin at least once a year if not more! Both phenomenal performances!! Love, love, love!!

This was the first video we saw of HF and are 3 generations of fans ever since. Have seen them 4 times. You were with them at 2 of those shows. Loved O HOLY NIGHT before , and love it even more now. Celine Dion's was my favorite version, but this one surpassed her's for me in 2014. Austin's nose twitch made this video the best, tho the voices were perfection too.

Chris--I think there was less push-back on the hat thing with this one, because a whole bunch of us (gently) stood up for you wearing the hat, to at least some of those who complained before. For one thing, there is absolutely nothing in the Bible that ever says that someone couldn't wear a hat in church. In fact, if you look back at temple worship in the distant days, the Jews didn't take off any of their headdresses. Then, in later years, there was a lot of noise about women NOT covering their heads (whether in church or not), which was just as ridiculous. God really doesn't care about what you wear on your head, or where you wear it. Now, if one were turn up completely uncovered in church, I would think there might be a legitimate outcry, but then I'd think that about ANY public place, which is what a church BUILDING is. It's simply a place for the Church (the Body of Christ here on on Earth) to gather. If God loves you with your hat on in the REST of your life...hmmm...God loves you in a church building, just the same. This is all aside from the fact that you had a reason for wearing the hat, which is nobody else's business in the world. This has always been one of my very favorite songs, to sing, as well as to listen to. If I want to hear it (at any time of year), these days, there are three versions on KZbin that I will go to. This one by you guys, and the two posted in December 2020 by Mat and Savanna Shaw. I would love to see your reaction to either one, or both of these... This has always been my favorite Christmas song and the only song I can still play on the piano after 3 years of lessons . But your group took this to a whole new level for me. I have listened probably close to 30 times since Dec. 1st. I have a suggestion for you or with your new group. Have you heard the song There's a New Kid in Town, or It Wasn't His Child? I think you would do a wonderful cover of either of these songs. Oh and Merry Christmas 🎄.

1. The Rug looks great, you look a LOT younger and it actually looks like it is your real hair! Congrats! 2. PLEASE get a solid Directional Mic; your current arrangement for this video with the 'back of the room' sound severely detracts from concentrating on what you are trying to tell us. 3. The hat controversy....sitting in the pews, people can personally relate to. Most everyone has been told to remove a hat or has told someone to remove a hat. That experience is pretty universal and deep. Psssst. Hey! Take off your hat dude! Standing, and up by the alter area is less personal for people to feel.

first of all thank you for your talent and the Group HOME FREE! I've been a fan since i saw you guys on the SING-OFF ,that year we had a house fire that destroyed everything we owned however my Wife and five kids and our three dogs got out safe and so did i but we did have smoke inhaulation for a spell. but while staying at my inlaws house till we rebuilt was oh great fun : rolling eyes:: but HOME FREE singing all those songs made it a lil beterto cope with thnak You so very much for that! as you know very well there are angles around us everywhere as a Lutheran i belive they are!

It's interesting that so many reactors have the assumption that it was a drone (rather than a videographer). I've only heard one or two have an issue with the hat - I think most Home Fries didn't 'cuz you wore a hat or cap in almost all of the videos. What really seems to seal the deal for most watchers are Tim's bass beginning & Austin's power vocals at the end.

I believe that this is my favorite version of this song, I was raised listening to the more classical/operatic version, but this hits differently. I believe that it’s the purity of voices and harmonies, which I am a complete push over for❤️

In my opinion a perfect music video. great to hear about the guy running up and down the cathedral LOL. Austin always looks a bit angelic with his long curly hair :) I guess your hat and you go together, I just saw it as you being you, but you don't need it as you have great hair yourself. One of my favorite Home Free Christmas “Oldies”! I remember the controversy from back then. I’m one of those who thought there wasn’t anything wrong with you wearing the hat since there was no service at the time, obviously. I know when I was very young and going to Catholic Church on Sundays, women and girls had to wear some type of hat or head covering, but men were not supposed to wear a hat. I never knew about all of the those rules. I think as long as someone was dressed properly and respectfully, it shouldn’t have mattered. Anyway, I always love hearing little tidbits about the making of the videos and other things. Looking forward to the next episode of the History of Home Free, too!

I love this song, and you guys did a fabulous job, but I always wondered why when Austin takes the verse its just a repeat of the 1st verse. I have always wished that a different verse had been sung by him, since Tim already did the 1st verse. Maybe because there are been so much issue about the hat for Angels, the same people weren't going to complain again. I do know that with Away in a Manger you showed taking your hat off. Is that because of the issues people had with you wearing it in a church previously? Merry Christmas Chris!
