@thomasarussellsr3 жыл бұрын
@@staceyrogers7807 yeah, still can't hear it without crying. It was played at both of my mom's parent's funerals with full military honors. (Both grandpa and grandma served in WWII) and every time I hear this song it takes me back grave side and I hear the 21 gun salute during the song in my head. I still shake and shiver and cry, every time. Grandpa passed in 2006, and grandma in 2016. Her sister, also a WWII veteran passed Feb 2018 and they played it then too, but not during the salute. Great Aunt Millie was a wonderful lady. She was our last surviving WWII vet in the family. A close friend, who was the last surviving WWII vet I knew, just passed on Monday. With this Covid going on, the small service is set to be immediate family only. They are hoping to have a memorial in the summer with a burial of his ashes at our local veteran's cemetary if this pandemic allows. I guess I can pay my respects then.

Seeing you and how you reacted allowed me to finally let my macho side go away and I joined you in your tears. You have given me hope again. Hope in humanity, and I can finally remove the scars that were trust upon my brothers and me upon our return from a battlefield that was bled so much blood sweat and tears. Thank You. There is a Civil War in Myanmar, civilians being slaughtered, the on going genocide by NATO backed ISIS terrorists continues in Syria, Libya & Iraq. The Economic war by the USA continues against the people of Venezuela, Cuba, Russia, Iran, Yemen, Syria & DPRK causing the starvation of millions. The western backed genocide in Yemen. The US backed ethnic cleansing of the Semitic people of Palestine by Zionist war criminals. The continued ethnic cleansing of the Indigenous people of the American Continent. I agree, NOBODY has to lose somebody they love, but western wars based on lies have slaughtered millions, and its the silence from the citizens of the world that is equally to blame. I saw children in Ireland being shot at by British imperial occupiers, the same is happening in Palestine and Syria, did you know the Coptic Christians {speak Aramaic) support Syrian President Assad because US/NATO/Israeli backed terrorists target Christians and kill them. NATO soldiers are fighting for to wrong team. Was Creates unnecessary deaths. War archives nothing. Every honest Soldier desires peace.. Its corrupt politicians who desirer war!
