Unless I missed something in the comments, there's another interesting reason that this song was debuted in Norway (through not necessarily intentionally). There's a game called Kubb that supposedly originated in one form or another by the Vikings who are from the Nordic countries. Supposedly, when the Vikings conquered a village or tribe, they played a game similar to Kubb. In it, thigh bones from those killed were used to knock over the skulls of those killed. In the game Kubb, dowels (reminiscent of thigh bones) are used to knock over Kubbs (reminscenct of skulls) and the King Kubb (which wins the game!). As a result, the name "Skull and Bones" could also represent the game Kubb and its supposed origins! And wouldn't you know it, the song was debuted in Viking country!

How lovely to hear this -- and I hope it will be performed in the UK too! I'm a little puzzled by the mandolin - we can definitely hear it, but Austin isn't playing it as he did in the premiere, and no-one else is producing it. I guess Adam is playing a recording. Although it's several centuries out of date, I love the way that Adam is playing the imaginary drums in the manner of a galley slave overseer. The recording isn't that great but does separate the different voices. Anyone who has only heard the official video version will be amazed at the tenors' performance. On the official version they are so multi-tracked that their voices almost lose identity, and it's hard to hear the harmonies.
