Just saw your 5 year update, so I came back to this. Great job, by the way! What products did you use. Is there a link?

Hi, please can you tell me what type of rug that is? maybe send me a link.. I love your transformation really works well and the rug really sets off the space
@TarynK7 жыл бұрын
Hi, thanks for watching! I got the rug from ikea a couple years ago, I'm pretty sure it's made of jute. I've just had a look on the site and I can't find the exact one, but really close is the LOHALS runner. Hope that helps!

Use a thicker roller made of fiber to fill the grout lines.

Thanks for the tip! If I ever have to do this again, I'll try and find something a bit more suitable :)

What is paint you use please ?
@ritagaston15564 жыл бұрын
Did you ever say NAME OF PRODUCT aside from it’s a kit.??? And how does it hold up please when walked on uncovered.
@TarynK4 жыл бұрын
Hi Rita, it’s the Rustoleum Tile Transformations kit :) I’m very happy with how it’s held up over the years, it’s been four and a half years now and there’s a couple of tiny chips, but that’s it! I have a follow up video linked in the description, filmed after two years and you can see how the paint is wearing in that video - I wouldn’t say it’s gotten any worse since i filmed that video. Hope this helps!

How do you clean the tile after the new paint job?
@TarynK5 жыл бұрын
Pretty much the exact way I would clean tiles, I just make sure not to use any harsh or abrasive chemicals on them. So usually just a vacuum and mop with method floor cleaner :)

So Basically one Coat is enough on the tile you think ? And can I make sure if it’s water resistance because I was wondering to use this in our bathroom ? Will I be fine using this ?
@TarynK5 жыл бұрын
Yep, definitely water resistant, I ended up doing my bathroom as well, coming up nearly four years ago now and it’s held up great! I have a review video on the product two years later if you wanted to see a bit more. I only used one coat on my tiles and it was fine :) good luck!

Thanks Taryn K for your reply, can I use this paint on the walls and as well on the floor ?
@TarynK5 жыл бұрын
Yep, I used it everywhere in my bathroom, even on the countertop 😂

Taryn K 😂😂😂, that’s a good idea. I have to surprise someone with my paint job 😂😂 Thank you sooo muchhh and best of luck with your KZbin channel.

Hi. I plan to do my bathroom and shower floors which are the same as the floor you painted. Is the floor slippery when wet? Should I do something different in the shower?
@TarynK5 жыл бұрын
I don’t find it to be too slippery, have never had a fall and neither have my kids (knock on wood!!) - I’m pretty sure there was a textured version of the paints (this is me casting my mind back over three years now, so I could be wrong) so maybe that would be an even better choice? Good luck with your transformation!

Hi Taryn, I have bought this to start today. I sampled dulux paint on the tile before discovering this product. DO I have to remove the paint prior to paining with tile transformer?
@TarynK4 жыл бұрын
Hey Felicity 😁 I would definitely remove the old paint first - I just think it would affect the integrity of the tile paint if you went over the top of existing paint. Good luck with your project!!

Does this come in different colours ?

Yes, I believe both brands of tile paint are tintable at Bunnings and I assume other places that stock it :)

How have the tiles held up?
@TarynK7 жыл бұрын
David Matheson they are still looking pretty good! Haven't had any flaking or chipping yet and no discolouration as far as I can tell. I also painted the tile in the bathrooms a couple weeks after this and have had one chip on a grout line (which luckily is where I have the bath mat anyway, so no one knows it's there but me). The plan is still to eventually re-tile, but I'm really happy with how it's holding up!
@tracymarkovic65547 жыл бұрын
ghetto just wait till you chip the paint to show the ugly tile you think you didn't like . Your next video will be about taking off paint from tile floors.
@TarynK7 жыл бұрын
It's been over a year now and still no chips! It's actually held up better than I was expecting. Like I said in the video, this is a temporary solution to tide us over until we have room in our budget to re-tile. I think tile paint definitely has it's place, as long as you have realistic expectations about it. Thanks for watching :)

Taryn K you did a wonderful job. I can't believe people like Tracy have the nerve to make such a negative comment about your hard work. Keep up the good work young lady and don't let no one discourage you. Keep the good video coming.

+sirprince blair Thank you so much :) That's so kind of you, I really appreciate your support. I don't mind a bit of criticism, it is the internet after all haha! But...it's been almost two years and I still haven't had to put up a "how to remove tile paint" video, just saying ;)

Check the 2 year update and then maybe check your appalling manners. Get some help with your issues so you don’t feel the need to take it out on kind women on KZbin, who are trying to help others renovate on a budget. Jeez.

All pretty applying those epoxies as a final coat. Wait 6-12 months and watch it yellow and peel. Dont do this as a DIYer. Unwise choice. It certainly is a cracking transformation Mr Green eyes.... in 6 months.
