I love the simplicity yet depth of this little promo piece. Anya is bursting with emotion as Paris lies before her and Russia is behind her. Her past and her future so near. Excellent creative direction! I'm dying to see this musical with my mom, who immigrated from Russia, after Gorbachev opened the borders, and married my American father. This story means so much to me. I recently introduced the movie to my mom. I don't know why neither of us saw it earlier in life. At my request, she taught me how to sing Once Upon A December in Russian, and even sang it with me, even though she is not confident about her voice. It was a very special moment for us. I'll treasure it forever.
