A home Made basketball rebounder made out of trap wire and nylon mesh netting, made for about $50, and works better than the $350 ones in stores.

Hey Gavyn, is there any chance you can say how you connected the rebounder to the backboard?? I am at the very last step of making it and can't tell if you used J Clips with trap wire attached to the backboard somehow to semi-permanently fix it to the net?
@gavynhillier1075
@gavynhillier1075 3 жыл бұрын
hey John, it is not attached by clips or anything, it simply sits on the back of the rim for easy removal. You can kind of see in the video, that in the back of the rebounder, there is a a piece of trap wire that just sits on the back of the rim. This project took several modifications and was mainly done by my father who has worked with trap wire and all that for over 50 years. So good luck!

great job on the basketball rebounder . How did you manage to create such a complex shape from wire and nylon mesh?
@gavynhillier1075
@gavynhillier1075 3 жыл бұрын
Appreciate that. Most of the credit goes to my father. He has been a lobsterman for over 50 years and has built much more complex things than this. Hand brake wire bender was very useful to shape the pieces we needed. Lots of modifications to get this to work.

One would think that if you went to all this trouble of making this device - you might PUT SOME AIR in the ball.

This sucks because u can’t make layups and u it forces u to shoot higher than u need to
@gavynhillier1075
@gavynhillier1075 Жыл бұрын
You can take it off fairly easily to practice your layups, and yes it makes you shoot higher but that’s not a bad thing, having a good arc is a fundamental of shooting.
