First off, really enjoying your vids. Top effort with the Webber cyclone, that’s something I reckon I could make & use. Lived in Nannup for 20 years and fly fished all the creeks and rivers in the southwest for trout over that time. Always wanted to go back and try the gravels in a few of my favourite rock bars across the rivers spots, and this would be a great way to entertain the grandkids one weekend. Have you tried any other southwest rivers or creeks besides the Blackwood at Bridgetown? You could try gold gully creek at Nannup, named after the early gold strike there back in the early to late 1800’s I used to do guided trout tours and being the guide, I didn’t fish while guiding clients, so often I’d just pan a few gravels between my two cupped hands, and I’d usually find a line of colours stuck in the crack between my two cupped hands. Curious if you’ve tried any other local waterways with any success?

I've a store bought blue bowl , my experience running your water line so high up is kicking out alot of your gold . You should have a pan at your tailing drop so you can check it freq.

That magnet picking up macrosized rocks is very interesting. I also liked the underwater video with the hydrocyclone clearly visible there. Might put a 5" sluice in the tailings path just to see if you're missing anything, I'm not sure about you noodling the bowl with your hand but idk, I never made one of these! :) That's so little gold though I'm thinking you should slice open some of those giant sapphires you're tossing and strike a cobalt/nickel mine. :)

Thanks mate... Its great for concentrating garnet ... there is very little gold in the river gravels here so I'm pretty pleased how it catches it all... and I did sluice tailings for no gold... the nickel mine will be down the road at Thor 😉

No worries 👍 I love my silicone leggo sluice mat 👍👍and I'm waiting for my mechanic friend to get me an old timing belt for a deep V. Those 90mm pvc y sections do a damm good job too... try half a dozen in a row at the end of a pipe and feed gravel into the top end with lots of water flow... I use a rubber door mat at the discharge to catch any gold that makes it through... but mostly it's a waste of time because the slanted drop riffles are pretty efficient.

Alan, I've been using silicone as sluice mat material since your vid a few yrs ago... I must say thanks for the idea because silicone is amazing at trapping ultra fine gold ... which is the most plentiful type at Donnybrook 👍👍👍

Thanks. I'd love to use it to catch those east coast pickers. I've run it real fast with lots of flow and been shoveling gravel as fast as I could. Was sure I'd find gold in the tails... but got none. Good luck finding a Webber 😂

Love the build mate - looks like you put in some hours working that creek to :) id love to trial that rig here in vic at a few places....you thought about making a 12 v centrifuge ? subbed mate, keep up the vids.. love it... im midst building a shaker table atm to process my fines after going through a chain mill crusher...

Thanks mate. Yeah a few hours lol. Not thought of a centrifuge but I can run the cyclone on my 12V pump for the gold cube. The cyclone is excellent for heavy gemstones.... I also use it to pan into ... as a safety pan. Then any I loose from the pan is still mine. It was real easy to make. Just fix a pipe into center of a Webber bbq.
