Outstanding work, that is a masterpiece of mechanical engineering, i'm very close to making the worlds smallest LTD Stirling, its 1 inch in diameter and 2 inches tall, it won't run on anywhere near as low a delta t as your baby tho, good work csizmarikg.

One of the best ltd stirling I ever saw on youtube Is very difficult to make it to have such a low friction Also is difficult to respect exactly the geometry :parallel ,straight ungles etc. And also to be as light as possible and airtight

That is beautiful! For those looking to find the differential in Fahrenheit...you don't calculate 4.4C to 39.92F. You must calculate the two Actual Values first. So 27C = 80.6F and 31.4C = 88.52F....Now calculate the difference. 88.52F - 80.6F = 7.92F I see there is a lot of debate on this video about this....so sad. Excelent Video and Top Notch Build!

What Is Islam? Islam is not just another religion. It is the same message preached by Moses, Jesus and Abraham. Islam literally means ‘submission to God’ and it teaches us to have a direct relationship with God. It reminds us that since God created us, no one should be worshipped except God alone. It also teaches that God is nothing like a human being or like anything that we can imagine. The concept of God is summarized in the Quran as: { “Say, He is God, the One. God, the Absolute. He does not give birth, nor was He born, and there is nothing like Him.”} (Quran 112:1-4) Becoming a Muslim is not turning your back to Jesus. Rather it’s going back to the original teachings of Jesus and obeying him. More ....

For raw cooling capacity, yes, but that would require closed plumbing, a second heat exchanger and reservoir to cool the water back down and a LOT more power to physically move the water around.

I saw in one of your previous responses that if you increased the temperature to the point a normal sterling engine works at, that it would melt the parts. If you raised the heat (but not to the point of melting the sensitive parts) and increased the cooling ability, would it provide a better output, and possibly be able to produce energy?

it has heat the table top, by adding the wet paper on top, it causes a temperature differential because the wet paper has water (or what ever he used) evaporating lowwering the temperature of the top, thus the heat is from the room temperature table top now being hotter then the wet paper.

As I understand how these widgets run is that there is a higher temperature and a lower one. And a fixed volume of air? With a spacer that is about 2/3 of the total volume, that is attached to an oscillation mechanism. The oscillation allows the air that is internal to the fixed volume. The oscillation of the air, so that it is cooled, drives the oscillation. The demonstration seems to apply an insulation to the cooling side; it would seem then that there is less of a temperature differential within the mechanism thereby. But yet it seems to work, perhaps better than without the described insulator. Huh? Please explain.

Technically you don't have to add additional heat. All you need is a hot and a cold reservoir. Rather than adding heat to the hot side, he is removing heat from the cold side. I guess it depends on how you interpret his original question. I interpreted it as "How does the engine run without heat being added."

Hi, I have an idea for generating some substantial amount of electricity. However i need a high power LTD free piston Stirling engine resonating at about 50 Hz. I was thinking of pressurizing it to about 50 bar and running it with warm and cold water flowing trough heat exchangers inside the housing. We are talking about maybe delta T=25 to 30 deg. Celsius. Can you help me with the design? We need hard, cold math so it's the smallest we can make it. Water supply is constant temperature and the amount of water at my disposal is about 50L/min. Maximum temperature is 80deg. Celsius, so we can use plastic for some parts.

wrong, a stirling engine is a caloric engine or heat engine. meaning it works with a temperature differential (like you said) which means it works because of the conduction of energy(heat) from hot to cold... just because he added a cold "thing" (the wet paper) does not mean there is not a heat source, it just means the heat source is room temperature or ambient temperature but still a heat source.

@teslstirlputt That's pretty funny because water freezes at 0ºc and 32ºf but magically 4.4ºc is way below freezing. °C x 9/5 + 32 = °F (°F - 32) x 5/9 = °C

Does someone know if it work if we tilt the motor? For exemple: when the heat source is a parabolic dishes, the central point of this parabol constrained to tilt the motor. Answer me asap, ty in advance ;)
@TIMEtoRIDE900
@TIMEtoRIDE900 9 жыл бұрын
+Les Rape-Tout Vilsmissiens With this design the displacer piston/disc has no bearings and no friction, as there is a gap in the bottom chamber. If you tilt the motor, the displacer rubs the wall. You would need to engineer some kind of levers and rods to locate the displacer. Horizontal Stirlings use steel wool as the displacer/regenerator, but usually use a burner or candle, and are not Ultra LTD.

You should take your own advice. First 4.4C is the differential...NOT the absolute value. Do the math properly...although a differential can be found without it being so convoluted...I will help you. 27C = 80.6F and 31.4C = 88.52F 88.52F - 80.6F = 7.92F The tempurature differential in Fahrenheit is...dun dun dun...7.92F
