I am moving to a new house and currently own one "TP-Link Talon AD7200 Multi-Band Wi-Fi Router" as well as 3 "Linksys WHW0101 Velop Whole Home Mesh WiFi System". The house is quite big and was wondering if i connect the 3 Velops via ethernet cables to the TP link, will it be one connection across the whole house and nodes being used as extenders??? Is setting it up easy?? Sorry if question sounds dumb and thanks in advance guys

Why are you using an access layer switch as a distribution layer switch? Shouldn't your ISP connection for the WAN go to the TP-link switch since it most likely has higher non-blocking throughput than the Netgear switch does? Core layer aggregation comes to mind...

Great video. what set-up do u recommend, for someone who doesn't have cctvs and only want to extend our wifi network. set-up 1. from main router, to TP-Link 16slot gigabit switch, and to wifi 6 modem? set-up 2 from main router, to wifi 6 modem, and to TP-Link switch set-up 3 completely change my wifi 5 modem to wifi 6 by unplugging it's fiber cable and reconnecting it to my wifi 6 modem. then I'll plug my wifi 6 modem to the TP-Link and from TP-Link to all the modem around my house?

Is it possible to make a local network with a old wifi router?
@JJFlores197
@JJFlores197 9 ай бұрын
Of course. If you just want a network, but no internet access, you just plug in the router to power. Connect your computers to the router via ethernet or wifi and that's it. You have your own network. If you want internet access, you'll first need internet service and then a modem.

Sir good day. Is it possible this kind of network? Modem (ISP) > Switch (unmanaged ) > router (use as my WiFi)
@JJFlores197
@JJFlores197 Жыл бұрын
No. The router goes in between the modem and switch. The router creates an internal network. It routes, hence the name, IP packets from your home network out to the internet and vice versa. A switch doesn't do routing.
@MrEarnxtracash
@MrEarnxtracash Жыл бұрын
it won't work unless you have a block of external IP addresses assigned to you by your ISP as this configuration requires external IP addresses for each device that is connected to the switch but before the router. Basically, your ISP will be the one assigning IPs (external ones at that) to the devices connected to the unmanaged switch rather than your router. You want the config that @jjflores197 suggested so that NAT works correctly within your home network.

@@andystewart9405 I think its a genuine question. I know most people nowadays have cell phones only and have abandoned their old phone service. I live with my parents and they still insist on keeping the home phone. IMO, it doesn't make sense since they can use their cell phones, but I guess its just old habits that are difficult to let go.

Good Eve Boss, meron ka po bang video sa proper layout or diagram ng pagkaka sunod sunod ng devices? pasensya na po sa tanong ko, hehe kasi po sa office po pag nag oopen ng mga PC, most of the time yung iba na computer merong net, tapos yung iba naman wala, pagka maya maya meron naman yung kabila, tapos nawalan naman yung iba, nag dududa lang po kasi ako baka po sa layout may mali, thanks in advance.
