The second bar you showed can be locked in with screwed in metal brackets that it slides down into. The old P90x bar was that style and it makes them much safer and sturdier while still being very easy to take off and put back up. Leaves 8 screw holes above the door if you remove it later but that's it. Highly recommend for anyone who is 200 plus pounds.

Something else to consider as you’re comparing options is height. I’m a tall guy and if I were to use the handles option, I would have to be in an L-sit position if I wanted to get something close to full range of motion during the workout

@skullboy14074 жыл бұрын
@@n0gginb0nker87 haha I do indeed mean the footwear! I know it sounds strange however the shape of them allows them to be slipped on (excuse the pun) the ends of the bar that touches the frame. Also because of the material it softens the pressure between that and the door frame. You are correct though a towel would work however it is not as easy to slip on as slippers are 👌🏻.

We should be mounting pullup bars in HALLWAYS. We'd have a lot more height to work with than a door frame. All that is needed is steel pipe (cheap) and bases that can be anchored to the studs of each wall. Even better, span 2 studs with a thick piece of plywood. And mount each plate so it has some vertical support, say 1' tall for each plate. That should be rock solid.

@@BackyardNinjaKids are they out of stock? because all I see is 3 different versions when I click the link. I want the one that you can 3:21 at where you can just have the handle bars clamp on top of the frame of your door like in the video.

It’s the Duonamic link. I believe they were back ordered like nearly every pull-up bar lately.

What is the screw in the door frame model that you have? I can't find a good one that is removable but can be mounted like that.

Found this one but the shipping is $25 to Canada. Maybe a useful option for Americans, looks sturdy, has locking clasps and it's only $30. www.amazon.com/gp/cart/view.html/ref=app_itemselect_cart

Is it possible to modify a pull-up bar that doesn’t seem to support itself on the trim molding? I can’t really modify the trim molding because it’s in a hallway that means one whole door would be expanding outward so that’s not an option.

how deep do you think the trim on your door would have to be for the chin up bar to hang off?
@BackyardNinjaKids4 жыл бұрын
Great question. I believe the standard is about 1/2" trim and that's plenty.
