In my opinion, when he said that the potential buyer increased his offer by hundreds of thousands and that listing agent ignored that offer He is in the wrong. Especially if he did not tell the sellers that they had to offer come in substantially more than the other offers. He would not be doing his job for his clients and that would be gross negligence. I don't care if you did not think that those buyers were serious. That is up to the sellers to determine that not you. So the people that actually should be yelling at you are the sellers. You defeated the whole purpose of a bidding war on a house and did damage to your client.

Kathy I don't believe it was government policy saying it has to be easier to get mortgages. I believe it was Wall Street saying give us more mortgages to securitize. Wall streets appetite for these instruments is what created the crisis. 95% of the foreclosures I saw in NYC were brought by trustees for trusts holding branches of securitized mortgages.

Crazy dynamic for most of the US. Some have fomo’d themselves out of a job. People are turned off I guess. I’d rather pay for a realestate lawyer. Not sure about other folks, but it’s just logical.
