"We decided ....I didn't need all this space over here." Loved this. Spoken like a married man. Lol !!! No disrespect intended, Joe. There have been a lot of things we decided I didn't need.

I love this Joe!!! Thanks so much for "normalizing" the home studio experience for us. I can appreciate those out there that have authentic space for a specific home studio function. However I have a feeling the majority of us are just like you where the studio is in a multi purpose space where we share with kids/family among other functions. It just is more practical for those of us that have families. Cheers! And..... "I AM NOT ALONE!!!"

Thanks for sharing your space and keeping it real Joe. You have a real home studio like most of us. I have a small boxed in area and I like to keep it small so everything is in arms reach. I can just spin my chair around and go. Love your Boomerang and baritone guitar. Very nice!! ✌

OMG, I would go batshit crazy in that size of a control room, constantly knocking things around while I'm swinging guitars on and off... and wow, kids making all kinds of noise playing video games in the background. Joe, I commend you. You have survival skills.

@HomeStudioCorner well regardless, it takes a certain kind of person who can juggle all those things and fit it all into such a compact space. Nice work.

Thanks for sharing Joe. Just goes to prove that we don't need big fancy spaces to make and record quality music! Loving my latest 430ish sq ft room. A decent laptop, some nice gear, well placed acoustic panels and we're off to the races! Well, ........ and a super cool color scheme (thanks to my incredibly talented wife!!), and decorated with pictures and LPs/CDs that have significant meaning to me. Always enjoy and am inspired by your videos. Please keep them coming!

Great tour, thank you Joe, interesting and very down to earth. With all respect to you and your Grandpa, when you mentioned the Korean War and his gift to you, I couldn't help but chuckle because it reminded me of Christopher Walken's speech to young Butch in 'Pulp Fiction'... the scene about the heirloom wristwatch ... how it been stored in the safest place he could find. In this case, however, obviously not.

I have been waiting for this update as I have seen the studio change over time. I have a similar room - and the same love of pencils & paper. Also, I have not noticed your picks before. Great setup, Joe! I have a similar arrangement; everything in reach of a swivel chair, including my favorite keyboard - an E-MU Proteus from the early '90's. Didn't see any drums. Do you have an isolated setup for them or do you just build them up and break them down as necessary??

@rome818010 күн бұрын
Bad gear can be a legitimate obstacle. Good gear can help you make better raw tracks, and maybe more importantly, can be inspiring. I think the problem comes when people blame all their struggles on lack of gear despite already having decent equipment. You can make a great-sounding album with an SM7B, a Focusrite, and a couple of Squiers. So the person who thinks that if they just get a U87, a vintage Gibson, or a Tube Tech compressor their music will finally start sounding good is blaming the wrong thing. But it's a question of degree. There's a reason most of the best sounding albums ever were recorded in incredible studios with hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of gear. In the end, I think you should get nice gear if 1) you can afford it without negatively impacting your life or the lives of people dependent on you; 2) it makes you happy; 3) it inspires you to create better art. But if you can't afford it, don't let that stop you.

It’s shameful that you sacrifice your face, your name, your experience, and your income for a product that’s no longer worth it, ever since the software can no longer be purchased but only rented for a limited time. Anyone who continues to support this rip-off is beyond help. Everyone else is turning back to torrents to get what they need. No more money for this nonsense - aren’t you ashamed of yourself?
