WOWZA...now that was a field trip...my tiny breezeway tiki bar in Jax Florida is nothing like this due to space, but what fun to dream and be transported and to enjoy a cocktail with Martin Denny and what once was...thanks for the tour...CHEERS!

I love it! Great Tiki room! One correction: Luke's Restaurant opened in 1951 but the Luau Hut didn't open until 1963.

I'm from New Orleans and had my first Mai Tai at the Bali Hai in 1984 when I was 18. Me and my father belonged to a Mardi Gras Krewe called Hercules and the Bali Hai parking lot was the the staging point for the parade and the gathering place for the end of the parade. The inside was amazing and that's what started my interest in Tiki. Sadly it burned down in the 90's I believe.

Spike, this fellow told you that he's hardly ever been to any tiki bars?? I had to rewind to make sure I heard that! Kowloon is only a couple of hours away, and the owner told you he's going to renovate soon. It's got to be tough to leave that basement, but he truly needs to hit the road and see some of the bars you've been featuring. Give him an itinerary!!

The Kowloon is actually about an hour and 15 minutes away and I've been there many times. I'm so sorry I forgot to mention it. It's not the easiest thing to remember everything when you're under the gun and you know you're being filmed.
