It seems daunting to update the extravagant, old world homes that were popular 20 years ago. Lauren absolutely nailed it. This home still feels old world but with a much brighter, fresher look and feel. Bravo!

What an incredible transformation, both inside and outside of the home. For me, the most inspired change was the kitchen and dining area. It really combines beauty and practicality. I love the use of reclaimed wood, which adds warmth to the large space. Bleaching the pantry door was brilliant.

That was quite a beautiful transformation--two questions--what do you think a renovation like that costs and how many square feet is the house.

Well renovations have so many factors involved when it comes to cost. Ways that the Bates probably saved money is so much of their reno was paint. It cost much more when you're changing the layout, moving plumbing, electrical, etc. They were also able to use the existing flooring and windows. I don't have a guess on the number it would cost but if you want a huge transformation paint clearly makes a big impact as you see here. This home is big at 7200 sq ft. Thanks so much for watching!
