Joy Doyle and Lara Yehl are military relocation specialists and the founders of Hover Girl Properties. They established their company in 2006 with no real estate experience, no business degree, and no idea what the future would hold. They were hoping to make a few thousand dollars a month managing properties for other Navy families. But now, 15 years later, they employ over 20 agents and sold over $108 million worth of real estate last year alone. But money isn’t their goal. In the Pilot episode of Home with the Hover Girls, Joy and Lara help a Gold-Star Family find a home. Melissa Recker and her four daughters lost their husband and father while he was serving on active duty with the Navy. Now, they must pick up and make a fresh start within a year in one of the most difficult housing markets on record. Not only do they need the size to accommodate four girls, but one is special needs and that presents even more challenges. But have no fear, the Hover Girls are here! Joy and Lara walk Melissa and her family through, not only their real estate journey, but their grieving journey as well. Like Joy says, “Melissa could have been me. I’m just doing what I would want others to do for me.”
