Respectfully, I disagree with your colleague. Some protection, while in the public is better than none at all. The mask prevents transfer of droplets. Just because she is asymptomatic, doesn't mean she's not a carrier. A mask provides a barrier of protection for the wearer, as well as for those we come into contact with. We all have to look out for each other. PPE and social distancing works for prevention.

Keisha Bryan so easy. Bak coy cut up, thinly sliced onions or scallions and then for the dressing some olive oil, sesame oil, honey, dash of vinegar or rice wine vinegar and some soy sauce and likkle toops of salt. I do it all to taste so not sure of the amounts 🤦🏻‍♀️

She is right about how to use the gloves and mask....but, what if she is a carrier or asymptomatic. You never know until you are tested.

@@anntaylor8065 those masks aren't effective anyway, they are cheap and not FFP3 Standard. They don't protect against catching or spreading the virus. Proper masks have to be fitted (and for males) no facial har permitted. The cheap or home made one's don't fit adequately enough to prevent droplets or spray. I am a qualified face fit tester with 3M. The emphasis should ALWAYS be on physical distancing, washing hands AND washing your face when you've got home from being out in the streets. The best soap to use is washing up liquid, because it strips oils out of the skin, the virus proteins find it harder to latch onto dehydrated skin. Makeshift / home made / cheap masks offer a false sense of protection. As does hand sanitiser - they are only effective if the ingredients list an alcohol content of anything above 60%. As per the Management Regulations 1999 (I'm English and safety law is my profession) hierarchy of control is defined with the acronym "E.R.I.C-P.D": E= Eliminate (we can't contain the virus to eliminate it) [[**highest best option in the hierarchy of control ***]] R= Reduce (as above, we don't have the means to physically reduce it) I= Isolate (it is a barely tangible entity hence Why it has spread so profusely around the world) C=Control (this can only be achieved with a vaccine - not yet available) P =PPE (personal protective equipment although in this scenario RPE - respiratory protective equipment) (not financially feasible for country sized populations, also the proper FFP3 masks are single-use only, they become ineffective after one wear. Battery operated RPE is even more expensive in costing in the region of hundreds of £££ per item) D= Discipline (asking people to physically distance and stay at home) [[**lowest in the hierarchy of control **]] Wearing PPE should be preserved for medics who will be subject to huge viral loads whilst treating sick patients. I hope this explains further my reasoning. Thanks ☺
