Thanks for the follow, and the comment. This setup has helped me so much! Also, don't use the normal teflon pipe thread tape, get the green for Oxygen pipe thread. More expensive, but no oils in the tape. The normal white tape has oils in it, that may cause a bad reaction.

I have an oxygen frog and it’s ok i guess, it works fine until i really start using a lot and it doesn’t quite have the psi of a t tank or a liquid. So I’m interested in home fill to get more pressure

Thanks for this ..I'm wondering if the HomeFill system is still operational since you started using ? I tried to buy a compressor from the link you provided, but it no longer seems to work. I also tried to purchase it through other sites, but it's not easy to buy without being a patient, or care home. Or I can buy used one.but I'm worried about getting after-sales service if something goes wrong. Can you tell me about the life expectancy of the machine and how to get after-sales service if needed?
@bronwenheilman5 ай бұрын
Hi @spungku, I purchase used. Look for ones with low hours. I have had 2 sets (as you can see in the video, I have 2 bottoms there). The pump on the top, I have also gone through one, and I am on my second one. I would recommend looking on Facebook market place (in your area for pickup) or Craigslist.

Great video, i am emulating this and have the oxy con, the homefill 2 unit, the fill cord, the whip, the k tank and the regulator and the whip I got does not have a pressure gauge, can I just run a T adaptor onto the K tank and run the homefill into that T which would then use the pressure guage of the regulator to determine pressure in the tank or just get a pressure guage for the whip and if so do you know of that part? Thanks for any help and thanks for sharing

what do these cost not just to buy. but with power/electic usage also? the link in the description is not working any more
@bronwenheilman Жыл бұрын
Hi mike, the link to buy parts is oxygenforless.com/. I got mine main unit used. Look on craigslist for HomeFills. There are different ones out there, so get one similar to mine. (check on the hours run, and find one as low as you can.). Price for power. not really sure. I run mine overnight. And it will fill only 500 pounds. I usually don't let my tanks get below 500, so I fill from 500 to 1000. I don't think they take very much juice, since they are made to run 24 hours to supply patients oxygen. The pump part is not meant to be run long, so that is why I only run it for about 8 hours at a time. Works for me. If you have a bunch of $$. check out HVO oxygen. ask for Carrie. Also, my patreon is www.patreon.com/bronwenheilman.

great video, thanks for sharing! is there a way to set the homefill to automatically stop when a certain pressure is reached? or do you have to stop it manually? thanks
@bronwenheilman2 жыл бұрын
Since it was a medical unit, I am sure it has a loud beeping noise when the bottle is full. But this can damage the pump. I would only fill the bottle to 1000psi max to keep the pump from working so hard. if you need something that turns off safely, you should check out HVO (High volume Oxygen) or Oxygen Frog or… I am sure there are others. Also, a tank of liquid oxygen may be a good way to go also. Cheers! And thanks for the question.

Thanks for posting this Bronwen. Do you know if the home fill system have an hour meter like on the concentrator and is there a way to judge useful life left in them? Thanks!

Hi Juliet, Both the 5L concentrator and the high pressure pump has an hour meter. (one one each piece of equipment). And no, not really, I only fill my tanks up to 1000psi to keep the high pressure pump working longer. (less stress on the parts)

great video ... how long does it take to fill a tank that big ?
@bronwenheilman3 жыл бұрын
Thank you , great question. With my small homefill unit, I only fill each tank 50%. This is so that the pump (the part on top) doesn't have to work so hard, and hopefully it will last longer. I can fill about 25% of a large tank over night. Hope this helps.
@djjoshua0073 жыл бұрын
So HOW LONG does it take?
@tlschaft1 Жыл бұрын
@@djjoshua007I think I can help you out, as I am uniquely qualified: completion of grade 6, in the year 1992. I’m going to do the classic “assume your audience doesn’t know anything about anything. O2 tanks are measured in cubic feet, and one cu ft is equal to 28.317 L.(ml and cubic centimeters are the same thing, and I could’ve done it that way, but I asked the internet, which there many resources out there on how to use, ex: the internet.) The homefill pump runs at 2.5 lpm, as stated in the video. In order to solve your problem, you need to know minutes per cu ft. 28.317➗2.5=11.33 minutes. Answer: more math. cu ft x 11.33 = total minutes. Divide by 60 for hours. To preemptively clarify, the numbers (if present) to the right of the decimal on your calculator are not minutes. The easiest way to get minutes is to hold a fist out, then put one finger out for 60, 2 for 120, 3 for 180, and so on till you can’t add another one without going over total minutes. At this point, subtract that number of minutes from total minutes, and what’s left is the remainder. Your fingers are hours, remainder is minutes. Example: My tank is 80 cu ft, but I want to stop at 40. 40x11.33=435minutes. 60x7=420, 435-420=15. The answer is 7 hours and 15 minutes, which can be expressed in the same way a digital clock displays the time of day. In a sentence: It takes 7:15 to fill my tank halfway. On the calculator, this is 7.25, decimal to fraction is 7 1/4. I hope this is sufficient.

What e tank? The tank needs to be open for the oxygen to enter into it. The pump has a check valve so the air can only go in the direction of the tank)

The oxygen only goes in the direction from the pump to the tank. There is a check valve in the pump so the oxygen can only go one direction.

Hi, About 24 hours for every 500 lbs. so a "K" tank may take 4 days. But, only fill it 1/2 way. This will help the pump last much longer.

don't put teflon on the threading. PTFE is oil based. There is an equivalent (and more exotic) tape for oxygen tanks. That white tape on the valve threads is NOT PTFE.
